Clos des Papes 位於法國 Southern Rhone的 Chateauneuf du Pape 產區始建於1756年。到18世紀末酒莊才開始出品葡萄酒到1802年酒莊才取名為 Clos des Papes。酒莊的葡萄園種植65% Grenache,20% Mourvedre,10% Syrah 和 5% 的其他品種。雖然在香港知名度不是最高(產量有限實際上流通也非常少)但其名聲享譽世界成為了內行人心目中的私伙酒在2007年美國權威葡萄酒雜誌 《Wine Spectator》的百大葡萄酒評選中名列第一




酒莊的老莊主Paul Avril 的一生對教皇新堡產區都有非常大的貢獻早於1963年時他便繼承了家族的 Clos des Papes當年所有該產區所有的葡萄酒不是由酒莊自行裝瓶Paul Avril 便是第一個在教皇新堡產區內推廣酒莊自行裝瓶的人該舉動在當時可算是非常大膽。老莊主從1963年至1987年都在酒莊內工作在此期間他釀造的1978年 Clos des Papes 得到了有史以來的最高評價——99分。老莊主Paul Avril 於 2009年以72歲的高齡因癌症去世後。他的兒子Paul-Vincent接管了 Clos des Papes。




從1988年開始 Paul-Vincent在家族酒莊工作之前他曾經在波爾多幾家知名酒莊工作其中包括 Chateau Mouton Rothschild 和布根地學習釀酒。Paul-Vincent是一個傳統主義者他嚴格控制產量並且採用生物動力法進行種植採用 Unfiltered 法裝瓶。酒莊於2010年獲得“Agriculture Biologique”認證故此在品嚐 Clos des Papes 時不難喝出他家優雅的韻美和純淨的酒風,這或多或少都是Paul-Vincent把波爾多和布根地的釀酒哲理融入其中。

Mind blowingstuff, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is most likely the greatest wine ever fromthis estate. Still inky colored, it has a powerful, slightly backward feel inits crushed rocks, cassis, kirsch, toasted spice, licorice and driedflower-like aromas and flavors. Massively concentrated, thick, rich andtextured, it delivers a serious lashing of tannin, yet nevertheless isperfectly balanced, ultra-pure, precise and long. It's the quintessential Closdes Papes and will have 30+ years of longevity. Note, yields were a miniscule16 hectoliters per hectare, so there's not much of this out there.

Undoubtedly one of the greatest Châteauneuf vintages of recent times, upthere with the 1990 - and perhaps the 2016; time will tell. It's deeplycoloured still at seven years of age. Deep, dark and brooding on the nose, it'sstarting to take on some balsamic and forest floor notes. The palate is veryharmonious, powerful and assertive, with firm, structural tannins. This isstill very fresh, sinewy and tightly wound - it's not ready yet, but will bespectacular when it is.

The 2010Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Paul-Vincent continues to fire on all cylinders and isa big, rich, structured beauty that flirts with perfection. Black raspberries,kirsch, dried garrigue, and dusty earth-like aromas and flavors all emerge fromthis huge, concentrated, incredibly structured 2010 that’s just now starting toshed a touch of baby fat. It’s going to hit full-maturity in another 4-5 yearsand last for another two decades. It’s an incredible, world-class effort thatevery reader should try to taste. 98+

Lots of cocoa powder and coffee frame a massive block of dark plum, blackcurrant and fig fruit, while massively endowed tannins stride from start tofinish. Cassis, anise and Lapsang souchong tea notes hang in the background fornow, but should emerge more with extended cellaring. The very dark, almostbrooding finish is dominated by charcoal-coated grip, but the purity still winsout in the end. A very, very large wine. *No. 4 Top 100 Wines of 2012,Collectibles*

Inky ruby. Potent, intensely perfumed aromas on raspberry liqueur, cherry-cola, anise and smoky garrigue. Spicy and incisive, offering palate-staining red and dark berry flavors that become richer with air. Shows a superb balance of richness and vivacity, with dusty tannins giving grip to along, spice- and floral-dominated finish. One of the top wines from the entire Rhone from this outstanding vintage.

Firm, fresh and lively – positively beefy it's so savoury. Lots of spine and fruit – real backbone. But this is so youthful! Satin texture as well as all this flavour.
