歷史/ 背景
莊主Silivia Imparato原是一個攝影師，1980年代中期，參加了一群年輕的葡萄酒愛好者的聚會，他們聚集在羅馬的Viadella Croce的RoffiIsabelli葡萄酒店。除了Silvia，還有Daniele Cernilli， Luca Maroni(義大利最重量級的酒評專家）， Renzo Cotarella， Remy Krug等等。Silvia膽怯地提到Salrnitani Hills家鄉遺留的葡萄園財產(釀造很粗糙的葡萄酒)。他問已經成名的釀酒師Renzo Cotarella，是否可以跟隨她參加這次冒險的改革。Renzo與他的兄弟Riccardo參觀了Silvia莊園，並提供了一些建議。在1983年，Silvia正式繼承祖父的酒莊，並志力要釀出最高質素的葡萄酒。一改當時的酒莊主要採用當地傳統的葡萄品種，釀造很粗糙的葡萄酒。用義大利人的話來說就是只是用來餸意粉。Silivia Imparato是個不折不扣的波爾多葡萄酒迷，而深明Barolo, Amarone, Brunello各有特色。故接受了Renzo與Riccardo建議開始種植赤霞珠和梅洛等國際品種，留下幾行阿利亞尼科（Aglianico）。 6年後釀出了第一個年份酒，從她接手以來，Montevetrano葡萄酒的品質便得到了飛躍性的發展，成了義大利新晉熱門的葡萄酒品牌之一。這種酒改變了人們對南方紅葡萄酒的看法，因為它似乎令人難以置信，因為人們認為在佛羅倫期以南是不可能釀造出優質的葡萄酒。因此，蒙特韋特拉諾（Montevetrano）成為了一個傳奇。

Some vintages of Montevetrano are hard to appreciate when they are young. The 2004 is not one of them. Rich and explosive from the outset, the 2004 has all of the elements to be one of the truly profound Montevetranos. Firm yet silky tannins frame deep layers of exuberant, perfumed fruit that caress the palate with stunning grace. This is simply flat-out great. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (AG)

Aromas of cherry, light coffee and rose follow through to a full body, with super silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. This is classy and wonderfully balanced, with fabulous fruit.

The 2004 Montevetrano is a knock-out. Endless layers of richly textured dark fruit floss from the glass as this gorgeous wine gradually reveals the depth of its expression. Tar, smoke, menthol, eucalyptus and earthiness emerge with air, adding further complexity as the wine sits in the glass. Gorgeously long and pure - with a finish that lasts forever- this sumptuous wine is not to be missed. Montevetrano is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20%Merlot and 10% Aglianico.

This is really voluptuous with dried-berry, light jam, menthol and spice character. Full to medium body, velvety tannins and a juicy and fruity finish. Spearmint at the end. A beauty now but will improve nicely with bottle age.
