-偉大的年份–

2015年份的特點是氣候炎熱，降雨少，尤其是在5月，6月和7月。因此，僅在升起的太陽面上進行除葉，以避免任何燙傷現象。從8月20日開始進行綠色收割，以便由於8月15日的大雨而更好地分配水補償。葡萄園中的性混亂避免了由簇狀團塊引起的穿孔，同時避免了使用殺蟲劑。在低北風的條件下，成熟階段是最佳的，以限制集群中的濕度，從而限制葡萄孢的出現。

This is the first year from the new owner of this small chateau in St.-Emilion, and it shows beautiful refinement and depth. It’s full-bodied yet very polished and refined with pretty tannins. Hints of smoke and spices on the finish. Watch this space. Beautiful now but can age beautifully.

The 2015 Ripeau is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that was picked between October 1-7 and matured in 100% new oak. The bouquet marks a melioration vis-a-vis older vintages, a little more refinement and precision coming through, just flirting with over-ripeness, but wisely choosing not to step over the line. The palate is medium-bodied, a little chewiness on the entry, but there is good depth and a clean and gently grippy finish. Watch out for future vintages of this estate owned by the Gregoire family.

The 2015 Ripeau is a powerful, intense wine. I had hoped the formidable tannins would soften a bit during the wine's aging, but that hasn't exactly happened. Even so, the 2015 has a good bit of depth and complexity. Plum, lavender, licorice and spice infuse this potent, if note specially refined, Saint-Émilion.
