Compania Vinicola del Norte de Espana 簡稱 C.V.N.E.，由 Eusebio 和 Raimundo Real de Asúa 兩兄弟於1897年創建，位於裏奧哈的中心城鎮 Haro，如今由第五代 Victor Urrutia 管理，是西班牙老牌明星酒莊，曾經的 Corona 1939 和 Vina Real Gran Reserva 1959 摘得 Parker 100滿分。集團在 Rioja 裏奧哈產區擁有四間酒莊，擁有545公頃葡萄園，分別是位於 Rioja Alta 上里奧哈的創始酒莊 CVNE，Rioja Alavesa 產區的 Vina Real 和推行單一園概念的精緻酒莊 Contino 以及2013年取得 Wine Spectator 百大酒莊第一名的 Imperial，每間酒莊皆代表了西班牙歷史的一部分，各有特色，獨樹一格。當中知名度最高是西班牙家喻戶曉的著名品牌 Imperial，佔地 28公頃，陳年能力極強，與 Vina Real 是當地最長壽的酒之一，從1920年就已上市，首席釀酒師 Maria Larrea 在法國 Montpellie r深研釀酒學，他把 Imperial 形容為“最好的葡萄來自最好的葡萄園”，葡萄種植於上里奧哈富含鐵質的黏土和石灰岩，只專注釀造 reserva & gran reserva，在 Escapement 雜誌專訪表示釀造 Made in a fresh, elegant, complex and structured style, Imperial has a wonderful capacity for ageing.

葡萄果實精選自 Villalba 及 Haro 鎮邊的自有葡萄園，葡萄樹藤平均年齡維持20年以上，Gran Reserva用上更古老樹藤，低產量，以確保成熟穩定，手工採摘，只有最健康、最成熟的葡萄串才被挑選出來，葡萄去梗後先以低溫浸皮，接著再進行低溫發酵，最後酒液60%於於法國橡木桶和40%於美國橡木桶陳年36個月再於裝瓶後窖藏36-48個月才正式上市。Imperial Gran Reserva 2004是第一支西班牙取得 Wine Spectator 百大第一名，出品非凡，飲家之藏品，年產量僅4000箱，而 2005在 Wine Advocate 上表現更出色。

Smoked cured meats, balsamic notes of beeswax, antique shop and incense define the complex and elegant nose. The medium-bodied palate reveals an impressively powerful wine which manages to feel light on its feet. I needed to swallow a bit of wine to make sure; yes, it’s truly elegant and classic. This is a great wine, which transports you to the old Grand Reserva of yesteryear.

This focused red shows density and balance on a modest frame, with black cherry, tobacco, sanguine and mineral flavors, harmonious and still fresh.

Deep red. Heady aromas of cherry, redcurrant, vanilla and rose oil, with a smoky nuance and a hint of cured tobacco. Sappy, penetrating, appealingly sweet red fruit flavors put on weight with air while maintaining vivacity. This impressively balanced and focused gran reserva finishes with silky tannins and excellent cut and persistence.

Hailing from a warm year, this wine is still a brute. Smoky, rubbery aromas of cassis and strawberry vascilate between ripe and candied. This is full-volume, even pushy, on the palate, with blazing acidity and rocky, spicy, pappery berry flavors.

Bright red raspberry notes create an immediate impression of brisk fruit in the aroma, then this wine retreats into its oak and earthy tannins. After a day, that oak presence begins to recede, revealing a finish that's austere, with dry red fruit flavors and spice.
