"His wines are a masterclass in under-statement, letting the terroir do all the talking via relatively low alcohol levels plus a prudent use of oak (mostly Damy) and sulfur. The magic happens when you allow his wines to age in bottle. 由 Voillot 家族經歷了6代人的酒莊,佔地8公頃,葡萄園分佈在 Meursault , Volnay , Pommard 和 Beaune 等13個不同產區,追尋純真,醇造傳統的布根地酒,尊重風土,Jean-Pierre Charlot 由1980年代開始已跟岳父 Joseph Voillot 共事,到1995正式接管酒莊,他自己亦是 Beaune 的博訥葡萄酒高級中學 Lycee Viticole 擔任釀酒學系當教授,多位知名的布根地釀酒師都是他的弟子,而他的父親多年在 Bouchard Pere et Fils 工作,多年與葡萄農建立緊密的關系, Jean-Pierre Charlot 從小耳濡目染下很自然走上釀酒師之路,其後與 Joseph Voillot 的女兒結婚並接管了岳父的酒莊,上任後將葡萄園管理轉向可持續經營方向,盡量減低人為干預,調正了各級酒在橡木桶陳熟的時間,Preimer Cru 約6個月,Village 14個月,Bourgogne 14-16個月,減低新橡木桶比例至10-20%,亦嘗試不作過濾,最令人津津樂道是能夠發揮每處風土的特點,透過他的巧手,就算弱年也能保持水準,現在 Jean-Pierre 已退居幕後,由他的姪兒 Etienne Chaix 管理酒莊,酒莊已得到 High Environmental Value (HVE) 。


Premier Cru Caillerets 是 Volnay 其中一個最優秀的 Premier Cru,Les Caillerets 毗連Les Champans的西面,兩者皆有絕佳風土,地勢較低,土壤構成複雜,斜坡頂部土層較薄,配上大量Oxfordian牛津階石灰石岩層,並且因佈滿大量石頭 (Caille)而名為Caillerets,不但能反射陽光更擁有良好的排水特性,出產的葡萄酒幼細且優雅、單寧柔順、集中十分優秀,有著典型的 Volnay 風格,當中葡萄藤自1984年種植。


  


🏅 Allen Meadows 91-94 pts  

This is quite a bit more elegant with a beautifullynuanced aromatic profile of admirably pure and cool red pinot fruit, earth andstone that is trimmed in a deft touch of wood. The intense medium weightflavors that are built like those of the Pézerolles, which is to say precise,fresh, balanced and finely detailed yet here the intensity is dialed up everfurther and there is more overall depth and length. A show stopper of a winethat is a gorgeous combination of power and finesse but note that lots ofpatience will be required.


🏅 Wine Advocate 90-91 pts

With more grip if less allure than thecorresponding Pezerolles, the Voillot 2008 Pommard Rugiens mingles blackberry,black raspberry, Szechuan pepper, tobacco and peat, displaying as well a saltedbeef stock underlying character. This palpably dense Pommard is neverthelessvery fine-grained in texture, even evincing a hint of creaminess. Long andcomplex, I detect an unobtrusive note of caramelization from new wood in thefinish that I did not find elsewhere in this collection, but Charlot assures methis got the same 25% as his other crus, and it’s simply that some crusinherently project – while others mask – this. It will be worth following for12-15 years.
