葡萄園採用 lutte raisonnée 葡萄藤競爭的方法管理和耕種，最少的人工干預和化學物質使用，採摘挑選最優質的葡萄串，然後將其100%全部去梗，隨後進行為期4-6天的浸皮，發酵過程不淋皮，而是採用更加溫和輕柔的方式讓酒帽與葡萄汁充分接觸。發酵完成後，葡萄酒會被轉入橡木桶中度過2個冬季，期間只換桶一次，在20-30％的新橡木桶發酵16-18個月，熟化之後直接裝瓶，不過濾，不澄清。

The 2012 Volnay Les Brouillards is strikingin its beauty. The Brouillards has all of the depth and richness of the otherwines in the range, but is elevated by its energy and pure vibrancy. Darkcherry, plum, spices and rose petals add complexity on the chiseled finish.This is a brilliant showing.

The 2012 Volnay 1er Cru Les Brouillards hasmore red, fleshier fruit on the nose compared to Les Angles – light and airy,gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with juicy ripetannins on the entry. This a little meatier and more complex than Les Anglesand shows good structure on the masculine, pencil-lead-tinged finish. This isvery fine – just two barrels produced.

A subtle touch of wood frames powerfully earthy scents offresh and layered dark currant and wild black raspberry. There is impressivelygood concentration to the intense and overtly mineral-inflected middle weightflavors that terminate in a robust and muscular finish. Here too there is atouch of dryness and because of the presence of ample gas it's hard to teaseout whether the dryness is due to the gas or faintly under ripe tannins.
