Ferren 費倫位於加州 Sonoma Coast 索諾瑪海岸，由 Matt Courtney 和他老友 David Wherritt 一起創立，是一家專注釀造單一園的 Pinot Noir 黑皮諾和 Chardonnay 霞多麗酒廠。Matt 是個追求完美主義的釀酒師，在 Pinot Noir 和 Chardonnay 花了巨大的精力研發學習，早年前他是跟隨加州膜拜酒教母 Helen Turley 的酒莊 Marcassin 門下工作8年，專注於種植管理單一園霞多麗和黑皮諾，從 Helen Turley 手中出來的酒常常是藏家四處搜集的珍品和拍賣會的主力。之後 Matt 出來成立自己的品牌 Ferren，視每個單一園為珍寶，Silver Eagle Vineyard, Lancel Creek Vineyard, Frei Road Vineyard，盡可能追求極致的品質，釀出的葡萄酒產量非常少，平均不足125箱，有時甚至少於100箱，第一個年份於2013年推出。手工採摘，以最高標準的可持續發展理念管理葡萄園，以傳統的布根地法釀造，採用本地酵母發酵，不澄清，不過濾，於1/3新法國橡木桶陳年1年，裝瓶前轉入不銹鋼桶陳釀 6個月後上市。

SILVER EAGLE VINEYARD

葡萄園坐落於 Sonoma Coast 與 Russian River Valley 分界處的 Stoetz 山脊的頂部，土壤是紅棕色的岩質黏土，吹拂太平洋涼爽海風以及內陸溫暖氣候影響，這一獨特氣候的融合釀出強烈且平衡的野梅味，令人垂涎的酸度，光滑質地的單寧；以及霞多麗迷人的礦物味，蜜餞，柑橘味。

The 2014 Chardonnay Silver Eagle Vineyard is flat out gorgeous. Ample, unctuous and inviting, the 2014 offers exceptional depth, silkiness and nuance. Apricot jam, honey, honeysuckle, orange peel and baked apple all flesh out in the glass. The interplay of rich, textured fruit and bright aromatics is compelling. The 2014 is a bold, opulent wine from Matt Courtney and yet it retains remarkable balance.
