A saturated ruby/purplecolor (surprising given the fact that the 100% Grenache was aged primarily insmall oak) is followed by fabulous levels of concentration, rich, ripe fruit,good freshness and vibrancy (because of the lack of any excessive heat duringthe growing season), plenty of pepper, licorice, grilled Provencal herbs, andexceptional levels of red and black fruits. The tannins are silky, the wine isbroad and savory, and the finish lasts nearly a minute. Drink this super wineover the next 15-20 years.

More serious and deep than the traditional, the 2007 Domaine du Grand Tinel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Alexis Establet sports loads of southern Rhône flare with licorice, earthy, mineral notes and smoke all supported by gorgeous Grenache fruit. Medium to full bodied, fresh, balanced and with a tannic, long finish, this stunning Châteauneuf will drink well over the following 12 to 15 years.

Dark ruby. Ripe black raspberry and cherry on the nose, with complicating notes of rose, incense and smoky minerals. Brighter red fruits join the dark berries on the supple, sweet, seamless palate. This appealing wine displays good back-end lift and lingering dark fruit character.

This is solidly built, with a very enticing core of crushed raspberry and boysenberry fruit held together by mouthwatering acidity. Plenty of spice, fruitcake and aged tobacco notes flitter through as well.
