Beaulieu Vineyard（柏裏歐酒莊）始於121年前一個美麗葡萄園的美麗故事，為了給親愛的妻子一個驚喜，1900年5月，Georges賣掉了他原先的生意，在美國納帕穀買下一塊叫做Rutherford的4公頃葡萄田與房舍，自此開始了新的時代。當 Fernande夫人第一眼看到這片土地時，不禁驚呼“Quel Beaulieu”，這句法文的意思是“一片美麗的土地”，酒莊便以此為名字。這項投資在De Latour家族算是非常正確的，事實上，買下酒莊不久，葡萄樹藤即受到葡萄蚜蟲猛烈的侵襲，非常慶倖有Georges先生的栽種知識，治癒了受蚜蟲侵襲的葡萄樹，並在十年之內孕育出百萬株具有抵抗葡萄蚜蟲樹根的葡萄樹，重新繁榮了納帕山谷的釀酒事業，Georges先生也成為當地具知名度且最有影響力的人物。
美國禁酒令開始於1919年，許多的美國葡萄酒莊都因此而關門大吉。然而，由於BV酒莊與政府簽約，成為了教會活動用酒的指定供應商之一，因而在特殊時期萬幸地存活了下來。1922年，Georges de Latour先生發現在Rutherford有越來越多宗教用葡萄酒的需求。
當禁酒令於1933年解除之後，Georges de Latour先生變成一位很富有的人，酒莊所有的設備也是最新穎的，他不只做一般的佐餐酒，更大膽地專注於研究和創新，開始釀制需要橡木桶培養陳年的高品質葡萄酒，立志將Rutherford的風土在葡萄酒中極致展現。等待禁酒令的解除，他才將這些酒介紹給一般大眾。
BV酒莊獨有的、經木桶陳年的赤霞珠葡萄酒，終於耐心等到法令解除而開始銷售。Georges de Latour先生寧可銷售這些高品質的酒而拒絕銷售給區域經銷商中低等級的一般葡萄酒，這些葡萄酒在各地，包括在紐約也得到許多的讚譽，Georges de Latour先生在Rutherford的東邊種植了BV 3號，這是一塊屬於教堂所有的地，種植了最高品質的葡萄樹。
在1936年Georges de Latour先生於同年生產出產量少但品質絕佳的葡萄酒之後，他明白需要像法國酒一樣運用新的釀造技術，才能釀造出更高品質的葡萄酒，他需要一名專業的釀酒師，不僅瞭解歐洲葡萄酒釀制標準同時又知道如何釀造世界水準的葡萄酒的人。 在BV酒莊，無論多有能力都需要由專業主導。1938年，Georges de Latour先生回到了他的家鄉——法國波爾多，去尋找可以幫他圓夢的釀酒人才，他認識了在INA工作的俄籍釀酒師，Andre Tchelistcheff先生--著名的葡萄栽培專家和釀酒師。在同年九月，Tchelistcheff先生來到加州為Georges de Latour先生工作，自此，美國加州葡萄酒展現出了與以往不同的特色。
1940年，BV酒莊酒莊葡萄酒被歷任美國總統選為白宮國宴的指定酒款，在過去 70年裏，幾乎每一位美國總統都選用璞利酒莊的葡萄酒來招待外國政要、國家元首和皇室成員。參與的名人如美國羅斯福總統夫人（Eleanor Roosevelt）和英國首相邱吉爾先生（Winston Churchill）都對其大為稱讚。

Blackberry, blackcurrant and mint with some sage and crushed-stone undertones. Full-bodied with chewy tannins that are in-check and nicely polished. Smoke, toasted oak and bark at the end, complementing the fresh yet ripe fruit.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges de Latour Private Reserve is fabulous. Inky, rich and explosive, the 2018 is a fine addition to the lineage of one of Napa Valley's most historic wines. Inky red fruit, chocolate, leather and licorice all open in the glass. Aeration brings out floral top notes, raspberry and a hint of blood orange. There is plenty of depth, but the tannins are finer than they were a few years ago. Shorter time on the skins and a reduction in barrel fermentations really allow the pedigree of these Rutherford sites to come through. The 2018 is sensational.

The famous wine lives up to its historic promise in this wonderfully complex and structured vintage, the wine showing an abundance of tension and youthful grip. Earthy in dried herb, cedar and sage, it shares notes of black currant, cassis and forest within a textured and brightly layered foundation of elegant ageablity.

The flagship 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Georges De Latour Private Reserve is a gorgeous wine from this team that's reminiscent of the 2016, if not slightly more tannic. Blackcurrants, cassis, tobacco leaf, and nicely integrated oak all make an appearance, and it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a beautiful sense of purity and freshness, flawless balance, and a great finish. It has plenty of structure and, like a lot of 2018s, not a huge amount of baby fat, which gives it a firmer, more age-worthy vibe. Rating: 97+

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it prances out of the glass with flamboyant scents of blackberry preserves, wild blueberries and crème de cassis, followed by hints of cigar box, Chinese five spice and pencil shavings with a waft of menthol. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a solid structure of firm grainy tannins and seamless freshness supporting the muscular black fruit, finishing long and earthy. Rating: 96+

Juicy, ripe and inviting, featuring racy cassis, plum and boysenberry compote notes that stretch out over the anise- and applewood-tinged spine. A bit taut in the end, with a cedary edge, but there's ample fruit here to give this some cellaring. Drink now.
