Chateau de Saint Cosme 位於法國Rhone Valley的 Gigondas產區，是該地區最古老的酒莊之一。西元109年，羅馬軍隊就在這裏建立了“城堡”，這也是酒莊的前身。至今酒莊的岩壁上還有25個石雕的木桶，顯示著這裏的歷史。

酒莊真正建立於1490年，到目前已經傳到第14代繼承者 Louis Barruol。Louis 繼承酒莊的時候不到30歲，他接受酒莊時，因為酒莊已經很久未有出色的產品，而開始沒落。Louis 不甘心家族的事業就此沉寂，便在釀造過程中加入祖輩留下來的15棵老藤歌海娜（平均樹齡60年）作為主打，並採用有機種植，充分表達風土和老藤相結合的非凡潛力。Louis 的理念是與志同道合的釀酒師一起，結合葡萄園特有的風土，在儘量減少人工干預的條件下，釀造出能表達純正和個性的風土，具有良好陳年潛力的葡萄酒。貫徹著這個理念，他讓 Saint Cosme 酒莊重新綻放出耀眼的光芒。

2001年的同莊的 Saint-Cosme "Les Deux Albion"在著名漫畫《神之水滴》第三集中出現。在漫畫中，這瓶酒剛打開時，女主認為香氣分散，只是一款普通的便宜酒，而醒酒30分鐘後，卻變成了一支“很了不起的酒”，令男主產生了置身巴厘島的錯覺，“各種香料，不同的肉類和成熟的水果，穿著性感服裝的舞蹈演員，以洋槐和金銀花的花瓣裝飾頭髮和身體”。

 Robert Parker 喝過酒莊的酒之後非常喜歡，把酒莊稱作 Giondas（Rhone Valley的子產區）的 Le Pin（波爾多車庫酒的鼻祖）。2010 Gigondas Hominis Fides 獲得 Paker滿分的評價。2015年打入了Wine Spectator 百大第5位

酒莊目前的葡萄園為15公頃，共分為3塊，即波斯特園（Le Poste）、克勞斯園（Le Claux）和奧米妮費德園（Hominis Fides），這3款葡萄園的土壤類型各不相同，大致分為黏土、石灰岩和沙土三種，主要栽培歌海娜（Grenache）和克萊雷（Clairette）葡萄。

這款 Valbelle 使用了一些全新的小橡木桶，年產量僅700箱。相對於年產量3400箱基礎款的 Gigondas，相當稀少。Robert Parker 親身上陣評價這令人印象深刻的酒款。濃郁的黑樹莓、黑加侖奶油蛋糕、苔蘚和花香，伴隨著灌木叢、礦物質和少許黑松露的氣息。酒體飽滿、充分表達出 Gigondas 的風土，然而整款酒優雅細膩，並不會沉悶厚重，擁有極好的陳年潛力。

The 2006 Gigondas Valbelle stylistically represents a transition between the masculine Le Claux and the more feminine Le Poste. Dense ruby/purple with fabulous ripeness, great fruit purity, plenty of boysenberry, blackberry, and cherry notes intermixed with licorice, smoke, and meat juices, the wine is full-bodied, opulent, with good underlying acidity and a terrific finish. It should drink well for 15 or more years.

More fresh, pure, and actually feminine than the straight Gigondas, the 2006 Château de Saint-Cosme Gigondas Valbelle, almost all Grenache with a splash of Syrah, delivers a gorgeous array of bright blackberry, violets, spring flowers, licorice, smoked herbs, and crushed stone-like qualities on the nose. Full-bodied and seamless on the palate, with loads of polish, impeccable balance, and a classically structured feel, this brilliant Gigondas is still very youthful and fresh. While delicious now, I would give bottles another 2-3 years in the cellar, and then drink over the following decade or longer.

Deep ruby. Intensely perfumed scents of spicy cherry, cassis, dried flowers and minerals; smells like a lot of syrah is in here but there's only 10%. Deep bitter cherry and blackcurrant flavors are complemented by cracked pepper and framed by youthful tannins. Finishes with striking sweetness, depth and grip. Very impressive.
