根據波爾多專家StephenBrook的著作《The Complete Bordeaux》。 Chateau LaTour de Mons城堡是瑪歌（Margaux）的一座古老建築，其歷史可追溯至13世紀，當時庫倫（Colomb）家族購買了如今已廢墟的城堡。它的名字來自皮埃爾·德·蒙斯（Pierre de Mons），他於1623年購買了該莊園。

在法國大革命後，蒙斯一家仍然成功保有業權。自蒙斯（Mons）的女兒結婚後，便傳給了加斯特布瓦（Gastebois）一家，該家族的後代於1995年將其財產賣給了一組金融機構。

他們更聘請了Chateau Angelus金鐘酒莊的休伯特·德·鮑德（Hubert de Bouard）作為葡萄酒釀造和葡萄園管理計劃的顧問。

Situated in one of the northern sectors of Margaux, this estate was created in the 13th century. This sumptuous wine has enormous power that is mitigated by the taut, mineral texture and black-currant flavors. It is a finely wrought wine that will take time to age.

Dense and chewy with very firm and silky tannins. Full-bodied and powerful. Better than the 2015.

The 2016 La Tour de Mons has a lifted, quite spicy bouquet with kirsch, red berry fruit and touches of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, great volume and ripeness. The finish comes through more like a 2015 in style with a smooth texture and quite a luscious graphite tinged note. Very fine. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London.

Light cocoa powder and tobacco accents line the core of crushed plum and cherry preserve flavors. A toasty edge holds sway on the finish. 10,000 cases made.
