歷史/ 背景

Conterno Fantino 位於意大利的 Piedmont 產區,酒莊成立於1982年,由 Claudio Conterno 和 Guido Fantino 建立,酒莊依山而建,靠近 Monforte d' Alba 村。酒莊專注於釀造四個葡萄品種:NebbioloBarberaDolcetto 和 Chardonnay。《意大利葡萄酒年鑑》評價:“Conterno Fantino 酒莊是 Langhe 產區最古老和最受人尊敬的酒莊之一。儘管20世紀90年代初開始,酒莊風格發生來了轉變,但各款葡萄酒風采依舊,以豐富的果香所為人稱道,別具吸引力的木桶風味有時是其識別標誌。”

 



1987年,Barolo Sori Ginestra出現在 Wine Spectator 的封面上,隨後Barolo獲得了國際突破。1989年,Guido 和 Claudio收購了葡萄園,並著手興建新的釀酒廠,在1994年正式啟用。酒莊在風景優美的地點,正是 Monforte 最古老的地區,俯瞰著雄偉的阿爾卑斯山。隨後的歲月也以同樣的方式繼續發展:逐一逐一地創造出最完整,最誠實的個人風土表現。現時莊園共有26公頃。

風土

Conterno Fantino的最初核心是Cine GinestraBarolo的歷史悠久,據記載可追溯到1800年代。

Barolo Mosconi

The richest and darkest of these wines, the 2010 Barolo Mosconi is laced with dark cherry, plum, chocolate, menthol, savory herb and clove nuances. The Mosconi is a wine of power, breadth and richness, with tremendous resonance and weight, all qualities typical of this south-facing site in Mosconi. Naturally, the 2010needs time to fully come together, but today it is striking and impeccable in its balance. The rich, explosive finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. The 2010 spent one year in 100% new French oak barrels and a second year in cask. - Antonio Galloni

The 2010 Barolo Mosconi is born in compact, clay soils that result in wines of increased structure and tannic richness. Despite the inevitable territorial imprinting, this vintage shows a heightened sense of elegance and grace. Short maceration times (from 8 to 10 days) also contribute to fix the brilliant ruby and garnet appearance of the wine. Its color integration is stunning. The mouthfeel is juicy and rich with enduring flavors of wild strawberry and raspberry. Drink: 2016-2026.

 

Founded in 1982by in laws Guido Fantino and Claudio Conterno, this carefully remodeled and refurbished estate is located atop one of the highest hills in Monforte d’Alba. From a glass lookout point in the winery, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the town’s church steeples and skyline. The property includes 26 hectares of vine (Conterno Fantino does not buy fruit) for a production of 140,000 bottles per year. Some 25,000 bottles are Barolo. Starting in 2014, wines will be certified organic. It does not produce a “base” Barolo, choosing instead to focus on its Langhe Nebbiolo.

White pepper aromas lead off, along with flavors of cherry and black currant. Expressive and fruity up front, this presents tight-grained, assertive tannins on the back end. Needs some time to harmonize. Best from 2018 through 2035. 393 cases made.

 

🏅 James Suckling 93 pts

This is a wine with blueberry and light vanilla character, plus hints of flowers. Full body with chewy, polished tannins and a clean, precise finish. Better in 2016.
