Domaine Giraud(吉羅酒莊)位於 Rhone Valley 的 Chateauneufdu Pape 產區。起源於 1974年,PierreGiraud 與妻子 MireilleBuou以佃方式,租了一塊四公頃的葡萄園,好幾個世代以來, Buou家族便經營著蒸餾廠。之後的 12 年間,透過一點一滴的租賃與佃耕方式,越來越多的葡萄園,讓這份熱情愈加茁壯與穩固。在 Chateauneuf-du-Pape持有的地塊,包含石塊、沙粒與白堊土等三種不同的土壤質地,最精華的 Les Terres Blanches 緊鄰名莊 Chateau Rayas ,種植著珍貴的 Grenache老葡萄藤。1981年,因應釀酒的需要,兩夫妻改建了蒸餾廠,並同年推出 Domaine giraud 首個年份酒。
1998年,年輕一代的 Marie Giraud 與 Francois Giraud 接手父母的事業。負責管理葡萄園和釀酒。酒莊的釀酒理念是在尊重家族傳統的前提下,儘量減少人為干預,堅持維持土地的生命力,才是葡萄酒的根本。酒莊自始嚴格採有機種植,在2008年,獲得了有機認證。更在2011年,獲得了生物動力認證。葡萄園多樣的生態系統與生命力,隨手都可採摘野生韭菜。果實產量雖因而削減20%至30%,香氣卻更加淨與平衡。即使在全球暖化的影響下,酒精濃度逐年攀升,酒質依舊明亮與平衡。
酒莊的葡萄園面積為 19 公頃,其中 8 公頃分佈在 Crau平原。土壤上層由砂土和大鵝卵石組成,下層為黏土。大鵝卵石白天吸收熱量,夜晚釋放熱量,有利於葡萄充分成熟,發展濃郁集中的風味。園中主要種植 Grenache,樹齡達 100年,以及樹齡偏小的 Syrah、Mourvedre、Clairette、Bourboulenc、Grenache Blanc和Roussanne。
在葡萄成熟的季節,將人為幹預的程度降至最低,收成時的人工逐粒選果方式採摘葡萄,紅葡萄去梗後低溫浸皮,以溫和萃取,然後發酵20~30天。發酵後的Grenache 和 Mourvedre需在水泥槽或不銹鋼罐中熟成 18 個月,西拉需在波爾多橡木桶中熟成,以進行微氧化作用,發展複雜結構。葡萄酒在裝瓶前不進行過濾或澄清,以最大限度保留香氣和風味,加上設備的改良提升,酒質得以日益精進,愈趨細緻。旗下酒款的豐富豆蔻、香草、巧克力與黑色水果香氣,迥異於刻板印象的 Rhone 酒款,兼有薄荷與玫瑰花瓣等清新調性。入口飽富張力,單寧絲滑柔嫩,深具明亮意象。屢獲《TheWine Advocate》高分評價,其中 Grenachesde pierre 甚至獲得滿分榮譽。

Breathtaking dark fruit flavors lead to a stunning display of fig, boysenberry coulis, blueberry paste and anise-steeped black currant all backed by ganache and black tea. The muscle shows up on the pure and balanced finish, characterized by tarry grip and drive.

The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition (made from the same blend as the 2011) is incredibly rich, concentrated and complex. The best value in their portfolio, it offers a dark plum/purple color along with copious notes of garrigue, pepper, licorice, black raspberries and kirsch. A super, full-bodied Chateauneuf with terrific purity and palate presence, it can be enjoyed over the next 15+ years.
This estate has acquitted itself impressively over the last 5-6 years. It first caught my attention with its brilliant 2007s, which were followed by strong efforts in 2009 and now their finest wines to date, the 2010s. Domaine Giraud is an old estate that has been reinvigorated by the enthusiasm of a younger generation, especially Marie Giraud. They own just over 40 acres in various Chateauneuf du Pape terroirs. The 2011 vintage was successful for Domaine Giraud, as evidenced by the following three wines. Without a doubt the 2010s are the greatest wines made to date by Francois and Marie Giraud.

The same blend and elevage as the 2011, the 2010 Domaine Giraud Châteauneuf-du-Pape is fantastic base cuvee and yields ripe, decadent aromas of blackberry liqueur, roasted meats, creamy licorice, and spice aromas and flavors to go with a full-bodied, supple, and lavishly textured Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Despite the richness and texture, it has rock solid underlying structure, with notable freshness, plenty of ripe tannin, and no shortage of length. It should be purchased by the case, and consumed over the coming 15+ years.
🏅Vinous 90-92 pts
(60% grenache, 35% syrah and 5% mourvedre; aged in a combination of concrete tanks and barriques): Bright purple. Ripe dark berries on the nose, with floral and herbal nuances adding complexity. Round, sappy and smooth, offering deep, sweet blackberry and boysenberry flavors and a hint of warmth on the back end. Finishes with very good power and length, leaving dark fruit notes behind.
