📖 就算無飲開美國酒嘅酒友們都應該聽過Joseph Phelps嘅大名，喺香港由其出名嘅Opus One都無拎過RP 100分但Joseph Phelps嘅旗艦酒Insignia就已經拎過4次，係各大酒評公認嘅美國神級酒莊之一～

Joseph Phelps當年擁有當時全美最大之一嘅建築公司，一開始只係幫另一間酒莊建設（而家嘅Rutherford Hill酒莊)，反而令佢愛上咗呢度，決定係1973年搬嚟成立同名酒莊，第一個年份1974已經拎到RP 94分！展開佢嘅神級酒莊之路～值得一提嘅係Robert Parker喺39後嘅2013年飲返再評到99分！證明Joseph Phelps唔單止係一枝美國酒，仲係一枝陳年潛力驚人嘅波爾多風格頂級酒。

🍷 呢款Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon葡萄嚟自唔同子產區嘅葡萄園，2009年後就係全自家葡萄，自家48%酒喺62%法國桶 + 38%美國桶陳熟18個月，其餘52%喺法國同美國1-2年舊桶陳熟，連基本款嘅木桶都嚟自6個唔同桶商，係睇得出嘅講究。

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, coming from vineyard locations in south Napa Valley, St. Helena, Oak Knoll District and Stags Leap District. It was aged for 18 months in 40% new (51% American, 49% French) and 60% one- to two-year-old French and American oak barrels. Deep garnet-purple colored, it does pirouettes out of the glass with notes of crushed blackberries, wild blueberries and ripe blackcurrants plus hints of lilacs, menthol, forest floor and pencil shavings with a touch of wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate is as intense as it is elegant, featuring layers of fresh black and blue fruits and gentle herbal accents, framed by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and minerally. 36,000 cases were made.

Very pretty blackberry, blackcurrant, walnut, forest-flower and dark-walnut aromas follow through to a full body with round, juicy tannins that are fine-grained and beautiful. Lovely length and generosity, but reserved at the finish to give it tension. Mostly from the Soscol vineyard. 97% cabernet sauvignon.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is bright, punchy and full of energy. Sweet red berry, mocha, licorice, spice, menthol and a kiss of new French oak all grace the 2018. Plummy and pliant, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate, but it has the pedigree to develop nicely for a number of years. Most of this fruit is sourced from vineyards in the southern end of the valley.

🏅 Wine Spectator 93pts

Ripe and lush up front, with waves of cassis, mulled plum and blackberry compote underscored by singed alder and graphite on the finish, adding grip. This is packed and well-built. Best from 2022 through 2032. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 36,000 cases made.
