The name Aisna , It was the Etruscans who introduced viticulture to Tuscany and Italy. This ancient people were so skilled in growing grapes and making wine that large quantities of Etruscan wine were marketed along the Mediterranean routes and beyond the Alps.
Religious practices in honor of the god of wine Fuflun were widespread in which the wine itself was used as a link between daily life and spirituality, also thanks to the intoxication it generated. So, precisely because of these considerations, we decided to call our wine "AISNA", which in Etruscan meant "Divine" and to depict in our coat of arms the god Fuflun with a cup of wine in his hand while Artames, goddess of the cycles of the nature and fertility, gives him a bunch of grapes.
The history of our company is that of the Rossi family, made up of strong-willed and enterprising characters; Sergio Rossi, from the early 70s, for the love of the vineyard and the wine, moved to Montalcino and, together with his cousin Giulio Consonno, first he founded and managed the companies "Altesino" and "Caparzo", and then founded his own company in 1979 "La Gerla". His son Alessandro follows his father's vocation and in 1996 he also moves from Milan, where he lived with his mother, to Montalcino, initially working in the company with his father, and then setting up his own company in 1998. When, unfortunately, in 2011 Sergio passed away prematurely, Alessandro decided to end his partnership with his father's company, to which he supplied the grapes for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, and started the own winemaking activity of the grapes produced.
Producing high quality wines means selecting the best bunches and only in vintages that are favorable to us, taking care not to ruin everything in the cellar. Our wines are created to accompany special moments of life, even before dishes; that's why we want them to represent all the characteristics and typicality of our beautiful territory and the vintage year, to give those who taste them the pleasure of a unique product. Our grapes, ripened in the hot summer sun, are harvested in the first days of October, when they reach the ideal sugar content and organoleptic intensity to naturally guarantee large concentrations of aromas and flavors.
