In Marlborough, few dare claim more experience in viticulture than Allan Scott. The Scott family winery is deeply rooted in the wine industry, owning some of the region's most renowned vineyards. "Allan Scott" has become synonymous with Marlborough wines. Founded in 1990 by Allan, Allan Scott Winery was the first independent winery in Marlborough, and the Scott family winemakers carved out a place for themselves in the highly competitive Marlborough wine market.
In fact, Allan has been involved in wine for 40 years. In 1973, Allan and his wife, Catherine (the fifth generation of the Marlborough family), decided to settle in Marlborough and work in the vineyards. In 1980, Allan was headhunted by Corbans to manage the Corbans family's vineyards, quickly rising to senior manager of viticulture. During this time, he not only managed the vineyards but also participated in winemaking. He founded his own winery in 1990.

Allan firmly believes that a great wine comes from the close collaboration between vineyard workers and winemakers, with the vineyard being the key to success. Therefore, he places great emphasis on vineyard management. Scott Winery's vineyard workers monitor the growth of each vine, fully utilizing the strengths of different vineyards, planting the most suitable grapes in different soil types, and harvesting at the most opportune time. All these efforts are aimed at one goal: ensuring a high-quality harvest.
Marlborough is recognized as one of the world's largest wine regions, with the Rapaura appellation being particularly prized. Scott Winery's vineyards are located within this region, enjoying its advantages. The vineyards receive ample sunlight, with warm days and cool nights, and the soil is rich in minerals and well-drained, resulting in grapes of exceptional quality every year. The vineyard cultivates grape varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Noir.
Winemaking
In its winemaking philosophy, the winery adheres to the core principle of "respecting terroir and preserving its original flavor," promoting sustainable ecological farming practices to protect the region's natural ecosystem. All grapes are hand-selected for optimal ripeness, employing gentle, modern winemaking techniques that avoid excessive processing and extraction, thus maximizing the preservation of the grapes' natural fruit aromas and the region's unique mineral terroir characteristics. The winery's product line is clearly defined. This Estate Sauvignon Blanc is its signature entry-level offering, presenting authentic Marlborough flavors at an affordable price. In addition, there is the premium single-vineyard Elie series, paying homage to the family heritage, and niche limited-edition series, catering to diverse tasting needs.
This 2025 Sauvignon Blanc comes from Marlborough, a core and classic wine region in New Zealand. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it has an alcohol content of 12.5% vol, making it a clean and crisp dry white wine. With a residual sugar content of only 2.98g/L and a total acidity of 7.7g/L, the precise control of acidity in the sweet-acid ratio and palate structure results in a wine that is neither too sweet nor too sour. The wine was aged without oak barrels and did not undergo malolactic fermentation, preserving the grapes' fresh fruit aromas and the unique terroir of Marlborough to the fullest extent.
