It offers an authentic expression of Mediterranean freshness while remaining wonderfully approachable.

Region

Located just off the Tuscan coast, Isola del Giglio is a small Mediterranean island renowned for its rugged granite landscape, abundant sunshine and cooling sea breezes. The island's vineyards, planted on steep terraces overlooking the sea, benefit from a unique maritime climate that helps preserve freshness while allowing the grapes to achieve full ripeness. Granite-rich soils contribute a distinctive mineral character, resulting in wines that combine vibrant fruit, crisp acidity and a subtle saline note, perfectly capturing the essence of this remarkable island terroir.

Winemaking

Casamatta Bianco 2024 is crafted from a blend of Ansonica, Vermentino and Trebbiano Toscano sourced from younger vines on the island of Giglio, off the Tuscan coast. The wine is fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel to preserve its vibrant fruit, crisp acidity and maritime freshness, while a small portion is matured in a 10-hectolitre large oak cask (botti) to add subtle texture and complexity. The result is a beautifully balanced white that captures both the purity of the fruit and the distinctive coastal character of its island terroir.
