Chateau d'issan is a Third Growth of the 1855 ImperialClassification. The wine is made from the old vines in theChateau dissan enclosure in the middle of the Margauxappellation. The soil here is mainly made up of surfacegravel on top of a clay subsoil, which contributes tooptimal ripeness and freshness in our two grape varieties,Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Chateau d'Issanexpresses the exquisite bouquet so characteristic ofMargaux, and stands out with its suppleness, subtlety,elegance and long keeping potential that come from itsunique terroir. Chateau d'issan is aged in barrels for 16 to18 months, half of which are new. Annual production isaround 100,000 bottles.

It’s medium-bodied with a pretty center palate and a bright fruity finish with just the right amount of tannins that frame the wine nicely. 52% merlot, 46% cabernet sauvignon and 2% petit verdot. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Blason d'Issan exhibits aromas of sweet plums, licorice, wild berries, spices and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy palate that's lively and charming, concluding with a delicately herbal finish.
