A medium-bodied dry red wine with deep colour and beautiful fruity aromas with ripe blackcurrant, vanilla, tobacco leaf and truffle flavours. On the entrance tannins are fine and firm, the wine has a clear body and a wonderful long-lasting finish, reflecting the typical Margaux style, delicate aromas, and at the same time showing a strong and tough side.

Chateau d'issan is a red wine from the village of Margaux in the Bordeaux region of France. Chateau d'Issan wine is the favorite of the royal families of many European countries, and is often chosen as the special wine for royal banquets, weddings and other occasions. Intense blackberry, blackcurrant, floral and slightly peppery notes, this 2016 Château Dixian second wine is full-bodied, with refined tannins, firm structure and a long finish.

About the winery：


Chateau d'Issan is located on the left bank of Bordeaux, in the famous wine village of Margaux (Medoc) in Medoc. famous village. The garden was built in the 16th century. Dixian Manor has chic gardens and lawns, as well as a beautiful moat surrounding the castle, with tall moat walls and gates outside the castle. It has a total of 59 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a planting ratio of 65% and 35%, and the average age of the vines is 35 years.

The Margaux appellation is located on the left bank of the Gironde Estuary, north of Saint-Julien. Margaux wines have been world-renowned since Gallo-Roman times. Margaux has a total of 1,400 hectares of vineyards with an average annual production of around 78,000 hectoliters. The high-quality wines of the Margaux region should be attributed to the local excellent soil, limestone and clay under the gravel alluvial layer, good soil drainage, etc. The local area is close to the vast Gironde Estuary (Gironde Estuary), the climate is mild and superior The natural conditions are very favorable for the growth of the vines and the ripening of the fruit. Dried oranges and plums with bark, mushroom and forest floor aromas that follow through to medium to full body with a dense finish and excellent energy. Spices such as nutmeg and sandalwood. Some chocolate, too.

Decanter 92
Seductive aromatics, good balance running through the palate, this is enjoyable. Petit Verdot for the first time in the blend, from the Pontac-Lynch vines. This has some lovely depth and width through the palate, one of the better second wines. With the addition of new plots and new grapes, they did many more blending sessions than usual, to be sure especially, whether to add the 1% Malbec to the first wine (most of this info needs to be switched into the Issan entry). Young vines mainly in this wine, Merlot oriented. This year they added 7ha of vines (as of March, from Pontac Lynch, including a 1948 plot of Petit Verdot and a 1958 Cabernet Franc, plus 1% of Malbec that has gone into the blend of the 1st wine)

Jeb Dunnuck 90-92
The second wine of this estate is the 2020 Blason D'Issan, and it's a pure, fruit-forward, impressive barrel sample. Lots of sweet cassis and darker cherry fruits as well as chocolate, spicy oak, and espresso notes define this youthful, medium to full-bodied wine that's going to offer ample pleasure right out of the gate.
