Casamigos is a premium tequila brand from the United States, founded by Hollywood star George Clooney, entrepreneur Rande Gerber, and real estate developer Mike Meldman. The brand name comes from the Spanish words "Casa" (home) and "Amigos" (friends), meaning "home of friends."

Casamigos was not initially intended for commercial sale; rather, the three founders wanted to create a tequila so smooth it didn't need salt or lemon, meant only for their own enjoyment with friends. It was only after its excellent reputation that it was officially launched to the market.

Casamigos originated from gatherings with friends and vacations in Mexico. George Clooney and Rande Gerber owned adjacent vacation villas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They often drank tequila together but couldn't find a truly smooth and palatable spirit, so they decided to create their ideal tequila themselves. In 2017, global spirits giant Diageo acquired Casamigos for up to $1 billion, making it one of the most successful celebrity-owned brands in spirits history.

Casamigos Reposado Tequila uses only premium 100% Blue Weber agave from the Jalisco Highlands of Mexico. The agave vines must grow in the field for 7 to 9 years to reach optimal maturity before being hand-harvested by professional "Jimidors," who remove the leaves, leaving only the sugar-rich piña (the core).

Slow Baking: Instead of using modern industrial high-pressure steam ovens, the agave piña cores are placed in traditional brick ovens for a slow, low-temperature roasting process of up to 72 hours (approximately three times longer than the industry standard fast roasting), perfectly transforming the agave into a rich caramel aroma.

Special Fermentation: Fermentation is carried out using the distillery's proprietary yeast,

a process lasting 80 hours (compared to the typical 48 hours in most distilleries), allowing the yeast ample time to develop more complex and smooth flavor profiles.

Distillation: The finely fermented spirit undergoes a second distillation in traditional copper pot stills. Only the purest, least impurity-laden "heart" of the spirit is retained.

American White Oak Aging—The Key to Reposado: The clear, high-quality spirit, after distillation, is aged for at least 6 months in American white oak casks previously used for bourbon whiskey.
