The history of the winery dates back to 1876, when British David Bishell moved to Marlborough, New Zealand with his wife and four children in pursuit of a better life. At first, the land was poorer and difficult to grow, but David was optimistic about the potential of this wasteland in the future. With his bravery and persistence, he slowly grew a variety of crops on this land, and did better and better. In 1926, it was awarded the “Best Worked Farm in Province” organized by the Marlborough A&P Association. Now in their fifth generation, their family still insists on growing and constantly manufacturing and developing products with the idea of ​​​​innovation and sustainability. Now they are most proud of brewing and growing cherries.

Region

Marlborough is New Zealand’s largest wine-producing region, with annual production accounting for about 79% of New Zealand’s total production. The production area is located in the northeast corner of the South Island of New Zealand. The production area is also one of the longest daylight areas, here the climate is cool and dry, the light is abundant, the grape growth cycle is long, slow maturity, very conducive to the agglomeration of grape flavor substances. The larger temperature difference between day and night is also conducive to maintaining the acidity of the grapes.

Winemaking

Fermented in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness, the wines are matured for 12 weeks on lees to enhance complexity, making them a classic example of this high-quality region.
