Patrick Dorneau, henever takes his eyes offthe vine.

Patrick Dorneau's family has been establishedin Fronsac since 1870. Four generations have succeeded one another in the vineyard,which today covers 22 hectares spread over two properties. The winegrower-owneris in the vineyard or in the cellar, while his wife Alice manages the commercialside.

He imposes an uncompromising rigor in the managementof the vineyard, and is constantly questioning himself in order to reach the maximumquality, by limiting the yields. Without having the means of a grand cru, he sometimesuses the methods of one. There planting and restructuring of his vineyard are meticulous.If it is the vine that makes the wine, it is still the man who drives it, by tamingits ardor thanks to the green work: ploughing, grassing, disbudding, green harvest...

Then in the cellar, he practices long macerationswith micro-oxygenation following the Ducoumau Method.

He was one of the first in the region to usethis winemaking technique, which is only possible with grapes of impeccable phenolicmaturity. The strong personality of the terroir, reinforced by his precise and efficientmethods, give Barrail Chevrol a dimension that has been rewarded many times in theguides.
