Winery

Chateau Maris, located in the Cru Minervois La Liviniere AOC in Languedoc-Roussillon, southern France, was the first winery in the region to receive full Biodynamic certification. It now holds three authoritative organic and biodynamic certifications: Ecocert, Biodyvin, and Demeter. Wine Spectator has ranked Maris as one of the world's five most environmentally friendly wineries. In 2016, it became the first winery in Europe to receive B Corp certification, and in 2022, it further solidified its position with the Robert Parker Green Emblem, making it a pioneer in biodynamic and environmental practices in southern France.

Region

Chateau Maris's finest wine is sourced from the finest Syrah vines in the entire Cru La Liviniere region, spanning only 0.7 hectares. It is aged for 16 months in brand-new 600L oak barrels and has won the highest Master award at Drink Business's Organic Masters Competition for three consecutive years (2017/2018/2019), demonstrating its exceptional quality.

Winemaking

The Dynamic wine, aged in larger oak barrels, doesn't have the same direct influence as another wine from the same estate, Amandiers. This results in a more raw and natural character, true to its name, Lively x Fresh = Dynamic. It can be considered Robert's masterpiece, bringing out the best of the Syrah from Cru La Liviniere.

Made in tiny quantities and from 100% Syrah aged all in barrel, the inky colored 2015 Minervois-La Livinière Dynamic offers up a huge nose of smoked black fruits, melted licorice, black currants and aged beef to go with a rich, unctuous, massively rich style on the palate. Despite the richness level here, it never comes across as heavy and stays lively and fresh. This is a huge, rich, unctuous beauty that lovers of Syrah should not miss! There’s just 160 cases made.
