🔎Chateau Saint-Pierre, founded in the 17th century, is a Fourth Growth in Bordeaux's 1855 classification. It experienced numerous succession disputes and ownership divisions before being acquired by Henri Martin in 1982, allowing the estate to continue.

💁🏻‍♂️Henri Martin was the head of Saint-Julien and the founder of the Cru Bourgeois Chateau Gloria. The Martin family has been involved in the wine industry in Bordeaux for three centuries. However, focusing solely on the production of a single classified growth was Henri's life goal. After acquiring Chateau Saint-Pierre, Henri devoted all his energy and resources to restoring the estate to its former glory. Although Henri passed away in 1991, his winemaking spirit has been passed on to his son-in-law, Jean-Louis Triaud. Through the efforts of two generations, the former prestige has not only been revived, but Chateau Saint-Pierre has also risen to become a renowned estate in Saint-Julien.

🌱The winery is located in the heart of the village of Beychevelle, with vineyards covering 17 hectares. The average age of the vines is 50 years. The soil is predominantly gravel, overlaid with a subsoil of sand and clay. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in traditional temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then aged in oak barrels for 14-16 months, 50% of which are new barrels. The wine's style is reminiscent of Pauillac and Margaux, possessing both the perfect, delicate aromas of Margaux and the rich, dark fruit flavors of Pauillac.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Saint-Pierre offers up warm cassis, redcurrant jelly, baked black berries and Black Forest cake with earth, herbs and meaty hints. Medium-bodied, it has a great core of muscular fruit with a firm and grainy frame and is solidly built, finishing long and layered.
