Dewar's 15 Years Old Blended Scotch Whisky《ZTSC196》

Dewar Whisky, one of the most awarded blended whiskies in the world, has won more than a thousand medals in international competitions. The "Dewar's Quadruple Aged" Double Double series has won almost all important international championships, including the IWSC Gold Medal, WWA Gold Medal, IWC Gold Medal... It is a frequent visitor to the list of major spirits competitions every year.
In 1846, John Dewar founded Dewar's Scotch Whisky in Perth, Scotland. The logo of Dewar's Scotch Whisky is three Celtic Knots, which are a symbol of strength and longevity. It also symbolizes the three founders of Dewar's Whisky, John Dewar and his two sons Tommy Dewar and John Alexander Dewar. Currently, it is one of the famous brands of Bacardi.
John Dewar was born in 1806. When he was young, John worked in a wine and spirits manufacturing company, where he learned wine and whiskey brewing technology for 17 years. Whisky was not very popular at the time. One of the reasons was that you needed to bring your own container when buying whiskey. John decided to solve this problem after seeing it. He asked the bottle to be as transparent as possible so that the color of the whiskey could be seen. So John began to sell "bottled" whiskey, and the "Dewar" brand began to become popular. "Bottled whiskey" seems to be commonplace now, but it was an epoch-making invention at the time.
What really made Dewar Whisky famous was the two sons of the founder John Dewar, who inherited and carried forward the brand and gradually grew it into a leader in Scottish whiskey. After John's death, the two brothers inherited Dewar Whisky. At that time, the elder brother John Alexander Dewar was 26 years old, and the younger brother Tommy Dewar was only 16 years old. The two brothers have completely opposite personalities. The elder brother John is introverted, calm and calm, and is very interested in politics. He is a typical Scottish gentleman. The younger brother Tommy is extroverted and very talkative, so he was appointed as the consul in London at the age of 33. The elder brother John is responsible for production, and the younger brother Tommy is responsible for sales. The two brothers work together to give full play to each other's strengths.

Dewar Whisky is a blended Scotch whisky (a blend of multiple malt and grain whiskies). The five main whiskies are: Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Royal Brackla, Craigellache and Macduff.
The most central key malt among all the whiskies is Aberfeldy. The typical creamy and honey-like sweetness of Aberfeldy malt whisky determines the main flavor of Dewar Whisky. The second most important whisky is Aultmore. This is a malt whisky produced in the Speyside region of Scotland, with a rich fruity flavor and a refreshing aftertaste. It plays an important role in the "aroma" of Dewar Whisky. Aberfeldy and Aultmore account for the vast majority of the blending formula. The taste and flavor of Dewar Whisky are formed around these two main malts, and the other three malt whiskies account for a smaller proportion.

In order to obtain a more balanced flavor and smooth taste, John Dewar created the brewing process of "double aging". The process of double aging is to mix the original liquor used for blended whiskey in a certain proportion and then put it back into the oak barrel for further aging. Nowadays, double aging technology has been used by almost all blended whiskey distilleries. The aging time varies from brand to brand. The second aging time of Dewar Whisky is at least 6 months. After the second aging, the sweet and smooth imperial whiskey is completed.
The "double aging" of Dewar Whisky has long been famous all over the world. The "Double Double Four-Aging Series" launched in 2019 has pushed the entire process to a new peak. The four-aging process is as follows:
First aging: single grains and malts are aged separately
Second aging: grains and malts are blended and aged separately
Third aging: grains and malts are blended and aged together
Fourth aging: barreled to selected sherry barrels for further maturation
The time-consuming and high-cost production process brings extreme smoothness and fusion that single malt cannot achieve. Won the 2020 IWSC Gold Award, WWA Gold Award, IWC Gold Award...

Dewar's 15 Year Old is crafted by Stephanie Macleod, the seventh Master Blender at Dewar's, with selected malt and grain whiskies matured in sherry and bourbon casks, blended and placed in specially selected oak casks for a smoother finish and a longer finish. Dewar's 15 Year Old is called "The Monarch", named after the famous 1851 painting "The Monarch of the Glen" by Sir Edwin Landseer, owned by John Dewar and his sons. Honey, rich fruit and nectar. Golden honey, toffee, warm and complex. Intense and fruity. Juicy exotic fruits with notes of coconut and vanilla, further complicated by citrus and green apple. Floral. Delicate and delicate, with floral notes.
