The Diechuan Malt Whisky Distillery is the first malt whiskey production base in China built by the French Pernod Ricard Group with an investment of RMB 1 billion. It is located in Gaoqiao Town, Emeishan City, Sichuan Province. Relying on the unique terroir conditions of Emeishan, it integrates Chinese and Western brewing techniques and is committed to creating a high-end whiskey brand with Chinese characteristics.

The distillery is located at the foot of Emeishan. The climate of rain and fog all year round and the cold springs provide a close maturation environment for whiskey. At the same time, European two-row barley (giving the body a smooth and stable body) and Chinese six-row barley (bringing nutty flavor and malt aroma) are used to achieve a balanced flavor.

Aging in oak barrels from three continents - the sweet candied fruit aroma of Spanish sherry barrels, the vanilla and floral fruit aroma of American bourbon barrels, and the unique Danling™ oak barrels (Mongolian oak aged 80-100 years) in Changbai Mountain, China. Its porous wood gives the body an oriental aftertaste of sandalwood and tangerine peel. The original "stacked blending method" superimposes different barrel-aged flavors to form a complex "stacked" style.

The process of slow fermentation for 100 hours and extracting only 18% of the essence of the wine core enhances the mellowness of the wine. The team, led by chief brewer Dr. Yang Tao, adheres to the "Chinese terroir, Chinese raw materials, and Chinese brewing concept" with the goal of creating whiskey that suits Chinese taste buds.

Tasting notes: Elegant floral and sweet cream as the prelude, intertwined with rich fruit cake and toffee aromas, ending with a subtle hint of tangerine peel and wood aroma.
