Feudi di Pisciotto, the pearl in the southeast corner of Sicily, is located in the southeast of Sicily. It has a history of more than 300 years and is one of the representative wineries in Sicily. To be precise, Feudi di Pisciotto dates back to the 18th century. It was once a world-famous tobacco plantation and was later transformed into grape cultivation. It is one of the largest wineries in Sicily. This ancient building includes an ancient residence, or "Baglio".

The complex today retains the atmosphere of what was once the feudal Sicily, as well as a winery, or "Palmento", from the Latin word paumentum, which refers to the act of pressing something. Press the grapes into the container and let them fall to the bottom, as this has been found to be the best technique.

Without any modifications to the existing structure, the Palmento was connected directly to a modern wine cellar. In the old house, an exclusive wine resort has been built, offering 10 spacious rooms, elegant living areas and terraces where guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the vineyards.

Since 2002, Feudi di Pisciotto has approximately 33 hectares of vineyards, half of which is used to cultivate Sicily native varieties, such as Nero d'Avola, and half of which is used to cultivate international grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot noir, Merlot, Semillon, etc. The vineyard is about 250 meters above sea level and less than 5 kilometers from the coastline, so you can enjoy the cool breeze from the sea and the sea can bring good temperature regulation.

Feudi di Pisciotto winery belongs to DOMINI CASTELLARE DI CASTELLINA group. The group also owns well-known wineries in Tuscany such as Castellare di Casatellina and Rocca di Frassinello. Feudi di Pisciotto always adheres to the consistent requirements for grapes: strict selection, strict cultivation and control of harvest time. Hand picking ensures the integrity of each fruit while preserving the quality and character of the wine. The winery uses advanced brewing equipment and brewing technology to produce a variety of high-quality wines with different flavors every year, and has received unanimous praise from industry insiders and consumers.

"L'Eterno" represents the bold challenge of Sicilian winery Feudi del Pisciotto. In fact, it is a pure Pinot noir grown in Niscemi, Caltanissetta. The leap in latitude and climate from Burgundy to Sicily is significant, but the special climatic conditions of the Gela region have proven to be ideal for growing French grape varieties that succeed in producing wines of great finesse and elegance of expression. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 270 meters above sea level and is planted on medium-textured, skeletal soil. The climate is always very breezy, with a good range of day and night temperatures, conducive to good ripening of the grapes. Harvest takes place in the first half of September and fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months and in bottle for 6 months.

Some pinot character, with strawberry, mushroom and bark aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with firm yet creamy tannins and a chewy finish. Polished. Drink or hold.

🏅 Vinous 89 pts

The 2019 Pinot Nero L'Eterno seduces with a darkly alluring bouquet that mixes sweetly spiced plums with violet candies, balsam herbs and hints of smoke. Its silky textures usher in a polished yet pure display of red and hints of blue fruits, all lifted by cooling acidity. Firm, grippy tannins come forward through the long yet youthfully structured finale, as this tapers off a bit chewy and primary. Cellaring for another year or two is recommended, or at least an hour of decanting.
