GENERAl DESCRIPTION: The vineyard located in the Castelletto locality, highly suited for the production of Barolo, has an east-south-east exposure sloping with sandy, limestone ground; the breeding system is traditional "guyot" with a density of approx. 4000 plants / Ha, production never exceeds 7 T / Ha and the harvest is always done by hand in small boxes (20Kg).
VINIFICATION AND AGING: the grapes, freshly harvested, are pressed and de-stemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel wine tanks; once the alcoholic fermentation is started, daily pumping is started in order to facilitate the extraction from the skin of the primary color and aromas of the grape, after 8 - 10 days the ermentations are concluded and we pass to the submerged cap maceration: phase, this, very important because, in addition to prolonging the period of extraction from the skins, which began already after the pressing, facilitates the
color stabilization of the future wine. During maceration, which lasts on average 25 - 30 days, malolactic fermentation also takes place, thus making the wine stable from a microbiological point of view. In December, the aging period in wood begins which lasts an average of 30 months, followed by bottling and the very important aging in bottle which, after another 8 - 10 months, will make the great Barolo available to the consumer.
ORGANOLECTIC EXAMINATION
VIEW: Bright and brilliant ruby red color, intense with light orange reflections
NOSE: Clear, broad with delicate notes of violets, spices, hay and licorice
TASTE: harmonious, full, slightly dry with a very persistent and complex finish that leaves a pleasant memory of licorice.

With fruit from Monforte d'Alba, the Forte Masso 2017 Barolo Castelletto shows a sweet-smelling bouquet with cherry confit and syrupy crème de cassis. This hot-vintage expression is layered and rich on the palate with oak spice flavors, soft tannins and an immediate approach for near or medium-term consumption.
