Merian (メルシャン) is a subsidiary of Kirin, a famous Japanese beer producer, that produces wine. It is currently the largest wine producer in Japan.

The factories are located in Nagano Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture, which are important wine-making centers in Japan. The business scope also includes alcoholic products such as plum wine and shochu. The company has obtained a patent for its plum wine brewing method, the "frozen ripening immersion method", and its shochu products have also won many different awards.

The plum wine is brewed using the "rich plum kernel aging method" in which plum kernels are soaked to fully bring out the delicious flavor of the plums. It has a sweet aroma like almonds, and is aged for three years and blended with brown sugar to create a deeper plum wine.

This plum wine is made using the "Plenty Seed Ripening Method" which soaks only plum seeds to fully extract the delicious ingredients. It has a sweet almond-like aroma and a rich flavor made from 3-year-aged aged sake and brown sugar.
