Winery

Lake Road Wines (often referred to as Lake Road Winery) is a multi-generational, family-owned wine producer headquartered in Gisborne, on the East Coast of New Zealand. Established in the mid-1970s, the winery evolved from a premium grape supplier into an independent brand recognized for creating expressive, award-winning New World wines.

Region

Sourced predominantly from the Wairau Valley to capture the quintessential crisp, punchy, and high-acid style that New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is world-famous for.

Winemaking

Fermentation took place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Selected yeast strains (inoculation) were used to enhance the tropical and herbaceous varietal characteristics. The fermentation was kept cool to prolong the process, protecting volatile aromatics.

No oak was used. The wine was kept entirely in stainless steel to maintain a crisp, clean profile. It was stabilized, lightly fined, and filtered relatively quickly post-fermentation to ready it for early bottling.

A crunchy, fresh and salivating wine with flavours of lemon and red apple, green mango and grapefruit. There’s a line of fresh herbs and white spices framed by a decent acid line and length. A well made made ready for drinking from day of purchase. The fine wet stone mineral quality and fresh fruits appeal deliver a wine of freshness and style.

This round and creamy sauvignon blanc shows aromas of passion fruit, papayas and lemons. Medium-bodied with seductive fresh apple flavors and tropical notes in the succulent finish.
