Winery Vina Muriel was founded by his grandfather José Murúa in the town of Elciego in Rioja Alavesa in 1926. His son Julian Murúa inherited his father's business and also worked as a winemaker for other wineries. His rich experience has made his products increasingly famous in the region. After that, Muriel was officially founded and developed. Now the group has been taken over by Julián, and the third generation also started to help in 2000. It is a century-old third-generation family winery in Rioja. Muriel keeps innovating and improving while respecting tradition, to ensure the style is timeless and loved by everyone.

Muriel has also been acquiring different wineries to produce more wines from different wine regions, styles and price points. Now the Muriel group has 12 wineries in Spain. 8 in Rioja, also one each in Rias Baixas and Ribera del Duero. There are even cross-region wines! This Vina Muriel is a core brand we offer for a while.
