Penfolds Winery is located in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. It is the most famous and largest winery in Australia. It is considered the symbol of Australian wine, and some people call it the aristocrat of the Australian wine industry.

The founder of Penfolds Winery is a young doctor from England - Christopher Rosen Penfolds. In 1844, when he was preparing to leave England and go to Australia, he obtained some grape vines in southern France at that time and brought them to Adelaide in South Australia. In 1845, in order to brew medicinal wine, he planted these grape saplings in Magill, a suburb of Adelaide, and planted grapes in the tradition of southern France. He built a small stone house in the center of the vineyard. The couple called the small stone house Grange, which means farmhouse in English. This is also the origin of Penfolds Winery's most famous wine Grange series. In today's market, wine has become the target of many wine collectors.

Penfolds Winery has successively purchased a number of top vineyards in South Australia based on its precise vision over the past century as a stable source of blended wines. High altitudes can be seen from the Eden Valley on the east side of the Barossa Valley to the Coonawarra Valley on the southeastern side of Australia, and even on the outlying island of Tasmania in the south.
