At Maison Perrier-Jouët, we believe it allstarts with a flower, a symbol that embodies the close relationship the Househas maintained with biodiversity since its creation in 1811.

Widely renowned for their expertise inhorticulture and botany, Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and his son Charles pioneered anumber of innovative ideas in the field of natural viticulture and vineyardmanagement. Charles Perrier was a great believer in simple methods such as theuse of steam to combat woodworm. He also published a treatise on how to dealwith vine parasites. Charles also championed a very specific pruning technique, designed to protect the vines from frost.

His passion is still alive today, incitingMaison Perrier-Jouët to constantly re-examine the complex web of relationswhich link all of the many species that make up the Champagne ecosystem.
Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque is the originalBelle Époque vintage cuvée, first appearing in 1964. Instantly recognisablethroughout the world, its bottle is adorned with the graceful spray of Japanesewhite anemones created for Maison Perrier-Jouët by Art Nouveau master EmileGallé in 1902.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque is a true icon –a rare and elegant champagne that celebrates the art of blending in thePerrier-Jouët style.

THE EYE: A pale gold, clear and luminous, like the rising sun.
THE NOSE: Delicate aromas of fruit – vinepeach and poached pear – and linden and hawthorn blossom.

🏅James Suckling 94pts
Sliced apples, wildflower honey, jasmine and sliced almonds on the nose, followed by a creamy palate with soft bubbles. Pretty honey flavors combined with fresh acidity and chalky minerality come through at the end. 50% chardonnay, 45% pinot noir and 5% meunier. 8 g/L dosage.
🏅Wine Enthusiast 94pts
Luminous pale gold with a stream of ultra-fine bubbles. The nose marries bright white peach, elderflower and lemon verbena with nutty brioche and a whisper of beeswax. The palate is creamy yet taut, juicy pear and apricot flavors framed by chalk mineral and vibrant citrus acidity. Soft honeyed undertones linger on the lengthy, refined finish, with persistent floral lift. An effortlessly balanced prestige cuvée, ideal for seafood feasts.
🏅Wine Advocate 93pts
The 2016 Perrier-Jouët Belle Époque Brut opens with bright scents of mirabelle plum, confit citrus, butter brioche and white blossom. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, it delivers pinpoint fine mousse and a fleshy core of ripe orchard fruit, lifted by zesty citrus acidity and lingering chalk mineral tension. The dosage is perfectly integrated, lending gentle honeyed sweetness without weighing down its floral, airy character.
🏅Wine Spectator 93pts
Pale straw-gold with a persistent, lace-like mousse. Aromas of white anemone flower, poached pear, lemon curd and toasted hazelnut unfold gently, touched by subtle green spice and flinty mineral. Silky and balanced on the palate, with layered orchard fruit, brioche cream and saline chalk minerality. Bright, poised acidity carries the long, elegant floral finish.
🏅Vinous 93pts
The 2016 Belle Époque is floral, delicate and impeccably balanced, true to Perrier-Jouët’s house identity. White flower, pear and citrus aromas lead, followed by almond, toasted bread and chalk on the palate. The mousse is light and airy, acidity bright but not aggressive, and the finish mineral-driven with quiet honeyed fruit. It’s a cuvée of grace rather than power, built for extended drinking pleasure over the next 10–15 years.
🏅Jeb Dunnuck 93pts
Bright pale gold with fine bead. Attractive aromatics of jasmine, green apple, apricot and toasted almond, plus subtle brioche and flint. Medium-bodied, silky texture, well-integrated acidity and chalky mineral backbone running through the midpalate. Flavors of ripe pear, lemon tart and wildflower honey carry to a clean, lingering finish. It’s elegant, not overly rich, with terrific length and precision.
🏅Decanter 93pts
A beautifully expressive vintage Belle Époque with the house’s signature floral charm front and centre. Delicate white blossom, poached pear and pink grapefruit on the nose, underscored by hazelnut praline and chalk dust. The palate is soft, creamy and harmonious, with fine persistent mousse and zesty citrus acidity countering gentle honey fruit. Mineral saline notes define the long finish. Approachable now, but will gain deeper toasty complexity through 2032+.
