Based in the Aizu region of Fukushima, aland once synonymous with Samurai, Miyaizumi Meijo began brewing the Sharakubrand in 2008 In an effort to breathe new life into the company’s long historyof sake production. By making major changes to the Toji system and giving eventhe smallest detail of the brewing process its due, Sharaku was able to retaina focus and balance of flavor that propelled the label to its award-winningstatus shortly after its inception.
