Distillery

Founded in 1899 by Shinjiro Torii, Suntory was originally named "Torii Shoten" and started by producing Akadama red wine. Suntory has a long history, and among its many whisky brands, founder Shinjiro Torii aimed to "create Japanese whisky that is on par with Scotch whisky."

TOKI means "time" in Japanese, a concept with rich meanings in the world, but especially in Japan, where respect for tradition and reinvention inspire powerful creativity. Inspired by this interplay, Suntory Whiskey Toki brings together a trio of old and new – Suntory’s proud heritage and spirit of innovation – to create a groundbreaking and timeless blend of Japanese whiskeys.

DNA comes from Hakushu malt whiskey and Chita grain whiskey. They source Hakushu original sake from American wooden barrels and get its unique green apple aroma, which is fresh and fragrant. In addition, the original liquor of Chita Grain Whiskey is selected, adding refreshing sweetness and vanilla aroma, bringing out a silky taste, and also has a certain complexity, which also emphasizes its sweetness, plus a peach-like aroma. Provides a sweet and spicy finish. Sweet vanilla oak, and spicy notes of white pepper and ginger.

Suntory's full name is: Suntory Spirits Limited. It is not a single brand. It owns three major distilleries: "Yamazaki Distillery", "Hakushu Distillery" and "Chita Distillery".
