Distillery

Polmos Białystok distillery, the exclusive producer of Żubrówka, Poland's iconic vodka brand, is located in Białystok, northeastern Poland.

Tracing back to the 16th-century buffalo grass vodka brewing tradition of eastern Poland, Polmos Białystok began commercial production of Żubrówka vodka in 1928. It was owned by Roust International until 2022, and since then has been owned by the Polish Maspex Group. It is the third or fourth best-selling vodka brand globally, sold in over 80 countries.

Region

Białowieża Forest in northeastern Poland – one of Europe's last remaining primeval forests and a habitat for European bison.

◦ Pure, mineral-rich groundwater from the surrounding forest provides a pure base for the vodka.

◦ Grain raw materials (rye and wheat) are sourced from the fertile Polish Plain in eastern Poland, ensuring consistent quality.

◦ Bison grass (Hierochloe odorata) is harvested exclusively from this forest, giving the brand uniqueness and geographical indication value.

Distillation

1. Carefully Selected Raw Materials: Using a blend of high-quality rye and wheat, preserving the traditional flavor base of Polish vodka.

2. Six Distillations: Utilizing a continuous column distillation method, six precise distillations ensure the purity and smoothness of the spirit.

3. Platinum Filtration: Unique platinum filtration technology removes impurities while retaining the spirit's delicate texture, a signature technique of the Biała series.

4. Herb-Free Formula: Unlike classic buffalo grass vodka, Biała is pure vodka, containing no buffalo grass, resulting in a clear, transparent color and pure grain flavor.

5. Precise Blending: Alcohol content is controlled at 37.5% or 40% (depending on the market version), balancing taste and drinking experience.

6. Fusion of Tradition and Modernity: Adhering to nearly a century of Polmos Białystok brewing standards, combined with modern quality control technology.
