Chateau Suduiraut is located in Preignac, Sauternes, on the left bank of Bordeaux, France. This appellation is renowned for its rich and sweet botrytized wines. Classified as a First Growth in the 1855 Sauternes and Barsac classification, it was once considered second only to Chateau d'Yquem in quality. Chateau d'Yquem is the only First Growth (Super First Growth) to be classified as such.

Sauternes is located in the southern part of the Graves appellation in Bordeaux, on the banks of the Ciron River, a left-bank tributary of the Garonne. It covers approximately 2,000 hectares and comprises five wine-producing villages: Sauternes, Beaume, Fargues, Preignac, and Barsac. The soil here is predominantly gravelly, well-drained, and sometimes interspersed with limestone and sandy clay. The climate is maritime.
The gravel layers in Sauternes reach depths of several meters, originating from the Pyrenees and the French Central Highlands, carried by the Garonne River and its tributaries. This gravel, mixed with layers of limestone and sandy clay, constitutes Sauternes' unique geological characteristics. The vines' roots penetrate the topsoil, sometimes reaching depths of up to ten meters, to reach the impermeable layer and absorb water and nutrients, thus providing the vines with a stable ecological environment.
有關釀造 Winemaking
Château Lafite Rothschild's dry white grapes are sourced from 20-year-old Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc vines. 50% is aged in oak barrels for 6 months.
The vineyard covers 20 hectares and utilizes numerous advanced winemaking equipment, including cushion presses and cryo-condensers, allowing for more precise blending. Undoubtedly, it has become one of the top Sauternes wineries with the most consistent quality.
