Domaine Jean Yves Bizot is a small winery located in Vosne-Romanee, in the Côte de Nuits, France, with only 4.04 hectares of vineyards.

Strictly speaking, Domaine Jean Yves' grandfather was the founder of Domaine Bizot. Originally a doctor, he purchased a 2.5-hectare vineyard in Vosne-Romanee and began winemaking as a side business. The winery was later passed on to his son. Owner Jean Yves was a geologist before inheriting the family vineyard in 1993, when he decided to make winemaking his full-time job. His first vintage was 1995. In 2007, he expanded the vineyard to 3.5 hectares, cultivating grapes and making wine in his own unique style.

The winery uses whole-bunch fermentation and ages all grapes in new Tonnellerie Rousseau oak barrels. The finished wines are bottled separately in different barrels, without blending. Their strict control and uncompromising attitude towards viticulture and winemaking result in such elegant and refined Burgundy wines. The winery has always enjoyed an unparalleled reputation, and its wines are considered exceptional. The wines produced by the winery are typically deep in color, smooth on the palate, and finely structured.

Domaine Bizot and Henri Jayer, the god of wine, appeared together in the comic book *Drops of God*. A wine critic once described Jean-Yves Bizot as Henri Jayer's apprentice, but Jean-Yves Bizot denied this relationship. The truth is, they were simply neighbors; Jean-Yves Bizot's home was less than 100 meters from Henri Jayer's old house, and they did exchange ideas on viticulture and winemaking. Henri Jayer abhorred fermentation with stems, therefore he always destemmed 100%, while Domaine Bizot was a staunch supporter of fermentation with stems, even going so far as to include 100% stems. "If there's one thing about Henri Jayer that influenced me, it's his problem-solving approach, which is always different from others," Jean-Yves Bizot once said.
