The winery's winemaking lineage dates back to the 17th century, making it one of the oldest winemaking families in Chablis. In 1929, family member Alfred Naudet, as a core member of INAO (National Institute of Origin and Designation of Origin), spearheaded the demarcation of the Chablis appellation boundaries, laying the foundation for the standardized development of this terroir. In 1950, Marie Naudet married René Moreau, officially establishing the Moreau-Naudet winery. In 1991, Stéphane Moreau took over the small 7-hectare estate, starting as a grape supplier and steadily expanding the vineyards and upgrading the winemaking equipment. The winery's vineyards cover the entire spectrum from Petit Chablis, Village, Premier Cru to Grand Cru, deeply rooted in the heart of the Chablis appellation. The soil, centered on the iconic Keemori limestone layer, is rich in ancient marine fossils and oyster shells, giving the wines a unique salty-mineral character.
