🍇Merlot -可以用來釀成Pomerol / Le Pin 等小編買不起的頂級佳釀，亦可以被視為較易入口，討女士們歡喜的平價入門酒，由於近年新世界產酒國家大量生產搶佔巿場，低質量的 Merlot 酒像雨後春筍，充斥著巿場，結果令許多酒客視之為洪水猛獸，才會出現像電影 Sideways 的穚段：「 Don’t give me Fxxking Merlot」，而新世界的 Merlot 是否從此就被定形為低質貨色，從此一蹶不振？非也，其實好多新世界冒起的新產區和釀酒師，都在默默耕耘努力打破呢種負面形像，而 Patagonia 的 Merlot 就係其中一個好例子。

Jancis Robinson ：「 This is a wine I would love to serve blind in Bordeaux. It reminds me so much of a wild but serious young Pomerol made for the long term, with a layer of extra intensity thanks to the vines' exposure to the intense Patagonian sunlight in southern Argentina.」當女王形容一支Patagonia 的Merlot 作為Young Pomerol ，大家就知道該區的潛力。Soil 的意思是指Aniello Merlot 葡萄來自三種不同土壤「Gravel、 Silt 、Clay」，然後混釀，採用20年樹齡的葡萄，在水泥蛋缸發酵，一半陳熟於水泥蛋，另一半放在225L 橡木桶陳熟。

南美酒權威酒指南 Descorchados 提到 Aniello Merlot: 「There aren’t many merlots like this one on the market—especially at this price. A real find from southern Argentina. The result shows a deep respect for the fruit, the red color, the freshness of the flavors, and the acidity that begs you to keep on drinking at the same time that it maintains its tannic tension.」
