Palmer寶馬莊園位於法國波爾Margaux瑪歌村，與Margaux瑪歌酒莊和Rauza-Segla魯臣世家相鄰。在梅多克1855分級中，Palmer被評為三級莊，但很多人認為Palmer的實力遠高於此。在10家三級莊中Palmer在各大酒評WA, JS, VN高分好評位居第一，15年JS滿分，16/18年Vinous滿分，超越眾多二級莊，除了一級莊Margaux瑪歌酒莊，能與之較量的就是相鄰的二級莊Rauza-Segla魯臣世家，得天獨厚的風土，有超二級莊的實力。Palmer的出品素以優雅細膩的單寧和獨特複雜的酒香著稱，極具辨識度，“葡萄酒皇帝”Robert Parker曾讚美道，“盲品好年份的Palmer，不必飲入，單聞酒香就可以分辨出來。”

Palmer莊園的歷史始於17世紀末，當時酒莊名為“Domaine de Gascq”，由Gascq家族掌管。1814年，英國少將軍Charles Palmer先生從Gascq家族手中購下酒莊，並用自己的姓氏為它命名。往後的近30年裏，Charles不斷擴大酒莊規模，並持續對其進行現代化改造，為Palmer莊園的成功奠定了堅實基礎。1843年，Charles因債務問題將酒莊轉手給Caisse Hypothecaire de Paris銀行打理。

1853年6月，法蘭西第二帝國時期的兩大銀行家，Rothschild家族的有力競爭對手，Emile Pereire和Isaac Pereire先生以高價購下Palmer莊園。此後，他們重新規劃葡萄園，斥鉅資推進酒莊的現代化改造，大幅提升了莊園的實力。由於時間太過緊迫，最後他們沒能在1855分級評選時將寶馬莊園提升到一級酒莊的地位，酒莊僅被評為三級酒莊。然而，在大多數人看來，寶馬的品質遠不止如此。1856年，他們邀請了波爾多建築師Burguet先生設計並建成了酒莊如今的主堡，該城堡有四個塔樓，懸掛著三面不同的國旗，十分有特色。

19世紀末，酒莊發展進入困難時期。 Pereire兄弟與他們的後人不僅要與葡萄孢粉菌、根瘤蚜蟲害作鬥爭，還要挺過1870年法德之戰與第一次世界大戰這樣的戰爭歲月。最終，20世紀30年代的經濟大蕭條迫使他們將酒莊出售。1938年，波爾多四個頂級葡萄酒世家——Mahler-Besse家族、Sichel家族、Miailhe家族和Ginestet家族共同購買了寶馬莊園，並逐漸恢復了酒莊應有的地位。後來Miailhe和Ginestet兩個家族撤股，Mahler-Besse家族和Sichel家族則繼續堅守在這裏。2004年，寶馬莊園的管理重任被交付給了Thomas Duroux先生。Thomas是一位農藝學工程師，曾在眾多世界頂級酒莊如Tenuta dell’Ornellaia從事葡萄酒釀造工作，積累了豐富的行業經驗。

目前，Palmer莊園擁有66公頃葡萄園，坐落在第四紀冰川期形成的貧瘠礫石高地上，俯瞰著Garonne。園內土壤由Garonne和Dordogne沖積而成，礫石含量高，土質貧瘠，排水性佳。葡萄園種植有47% Cabernet Sauvignon、47% Merlot和6% Petit Verdot，平均樹齡為38年。秉承著尊重風土及可持續發展的理念，酒莊從2008年開始嘗試採用生物動力法管理葡萄園，2014年起旗下葡萄園全部採行生物動力法耕作，並且在2017年取得認證。葡萄園內不使用任何農藥，將土壤、葡萄樹以及其他動植物視為一個相關聯的整體，強調生物多樣性，並依據日月星辰的變化，在恰當的時間進行修枝剪葉和採收等一系列工作，力求在最自然的狀態下培育出能真實反映風土獨特性的葡萄果實。

當葡萄達到最佳成熟度時，酒莊採用人工採摘方式採收葡萄，採收回來的葡萄經過人工篩選、光學篩選以及破皮等工序後，接著通過重力的作用被運送至發酵罐裏。酒莊目前共配備了54個圓錐形發酵罐，可實現單獨發酵不同地塊、不同品種的葡萄果實。完成發酵後，酒液會在橡木桶中熟成20-22個月，其中新桶的比例低於50%，以凸顯出葡萄酒的天然特質。Palmer莊園一大特色便是混釀的Merlot占比高，通常情況下左岸都以高比例Cabernet Sauvignon為主的經典混釀，而Palmer卻反其道而行之，Cabernet Sauvignon比例經常低於50%，同時會輔以少量的Petit Verdot。Cabernet Sauvignon帶來結構感和鮮明而深邃的單寧，Merlot為酒液提供了馥鬱的果香、絲滑柔順的口感和豐富的表現力，Petit Verdot則為酒款帶來複雜的香料氣息。

A purity of fruit here with plum and dark chocolate undertones. Spices and treacle tart as well. Full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a long, long finish. Very fine indeed. Fit, fruity and reserved. Superb.

While outwardly this wine is generous and opulent with great juicy sweetness, the core is structured and powerful. The wine is concentrated and complex, with dark tannins and a brooding, dense texture. This is a wine with a long-lived future.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Palmer rolls out of the glass with warm cassis, baked plums and boysenberries scents plus hints of candied violets, star anise and dried bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is generously fruited, with a firm backbone of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long.

The 2010 Palmer has an outgoing, intense and multifaceted bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry, crushed violets and hints of cassis - your quintessential Margaux turned up to eleven. The palate is medium-bodied with very supple tannins and a fine bead of acidity. Headier than its Margaux peers, it builds in the mouth with a complex, marine-tinged finish with cracked black pepper lingering on the aftertaste. This is an outstanding Palmer but it needs more time in bottle. Tasted from an ex-château bottle at the BI Wines & Spirits 10-Year On tasting.

This is riveting, with terrific tarry grip coursing underneath layers of smoldering bay leaf, warm plum confiture, freshly brewed espresso, dark cassis and well-steeped black tea. The charcoal and tobacco backdrop is gorgeous and should move forward through the core of fruit over time. Be patient though, as the structure is ironclad. This will really be electric once mature. Best from 2017 through 2040. 8,500 cases made.
