為何部分Port酒正面瓶身會有白油的印記?

大部分陳舊Port酒的正面瓶身都會有名為Splash Mark的白油印記。

此為酒莊在酒窖陳存酒瓶時的記號，以茲識別酒瓶陳放時正面朝上的方向並了解沉積物所累積的地方(即白油Splash Mark的反方)。

因此建議飲家在酒櫃存放Port酒時，同樣有酒標和白色Splash Mark的一面朝上方，並且在飲用前1-2天提前直立處置令沉積物提前沉至瓶底。

酒莊Chateau Villargeil早於16世紀已經存在，座落在法國南部Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts地區，由莊主Laurent及Veronique Viguier 共同經營，總面積達150公頃。此酒莊一直在Rivesaltes釀造自家酒款，時至今日他們還有些過百年的珍釀。

天然甜酒 (Vin Doux Natural)，簡稱VDN，是法國南部Roussillon地區的知名”特產”。VDN按照葡萄品種和釀造過程的不同，可分為桃紅 (Rose)、甜紅和甜白三類。而在法國南部Roussillon卻擁有5種AOP級別的強化甜葡萄酒產區，分別是 Banyuls, Banyuls Grand Cru, Maury, Muscat de Rivesaltes 和 Rivesaltes.

這是款加烈型甜紅酒，意即就是在發酵的過程中，加入高濃度的天然酒精，提高酒精濃度，中止發酵，從而保留當中的殘糖，所以品嚐起來會是帶甜。當VDN的自然發酵達到6%左右的酒精濃度時，加入特定的葡萄高濃度的天然酒精(一般是96%的天然葡萄白蘭地)，使得最終的酒精濃度達到約15%左右。

這酒在當時1958年，經人手採收Grenaches葡萄後，會先經過發酵及加入酒精等工序，再放入Foudre (大型舊法國橡木桶)，陳熟59年，再在2017年裝瓶。

此酒款帶上精緻的香氣和味道，如烘烤的香料、咖啡、Mocha、焦糖、柑橘、果醬、無花果、杏子、乾果等，口感圓潤香甜，酒體飽滿，餘韻細長。

Philippe Gayral purchased the singlefoudres of 1958 Rivesaltes from Château Villargeil in 2009. It has a veryharmonious and pure bouquet with scents of orange rind, quince, Earl Grey and atouch of dry tobacco, exuding great clarity. Vivid! The palate is very welldefined with quince and marmalade on the entry. There is no sense of heavinesshere, but there is a heartwarming, sensual and viscous texture that seduces thesenses, with just the right amount of spice enlivening the finish. This issuperb.

Cask sample. From near Le Boulou near LesAlbères. They made vin doux naturel decades before the creation of the name vindoux naturel. Mainly Grenache Noir.

Greenish-orange colour. Spicy nose withsome bitter orange-peel notes. Different texture than some. Chalky, smoothtannins. Lots of acidity. Very clean end.
