Chateau Cantenac-Brown 肯德布朗城堡位於波爾多左岸的 Margaux 瑪歌村,相鄰 Chateau Margaux 瑪歌莊園,在1855梅多克分級中被列為三級莊。19世紀初由蘇格蘭畫家 John-Lewis Brown 亦是葡萄酒愛好者時任莊主,把自己的名字加到莊園裏,並建造了一座都鐸風格的宅邸,其葡萄酒風格跟建築如出一轍:高雅而精緻。隨後酒莊經歷過 M. Gromard, 還有 Chateau Leoville Poyferre 的持有者 Louis Armand Lalande 經營管理。2006年商人 Simon Halabi 從 Pichon Baron 的持有者 Axa-Millésimes 集團收購了這個極具英倫特色的城堡,並帶來了新的推動力,致力於將酒莊推向更高水準。2019年酒莊易主到醫療巨頭 Urgo 集團,莊主 Tristan Le Lous 本來是出身農業工程,對葡萄種植和釀造情有獨鐘,對 Cantenac-Brown 風土和酒質充滿信心,”Cantenac Brown is one of the jewels of the Médoc, I have a lot of ambition for this grand cru estate”. 並維持原有 José Sanfins 帶領的釀酒團隊。
葡萄園位於瑪歌村一片風土優異的礫石坡地上,含有石英的砂礫土,被譽為“瑪歌的鑽石”,佈滿不同形狀大小的砂礫和石灰岩形成極好的排水系統。酒莊種植的49公頃葡萄園全部採用可持續發展的種植方法,平均樹齡為35年的葡萄樹,嚴格控制產量,手工採收,根據葡萄的品種和年齡,將來自不同地塊的葡萄分開放入控溫不銹鋼罐中單獨發酵,以便為葡萄酒提供正確混釀配方。酒精發酵時長約為10天,緊接著在木桶中進行蘋果酸-乳酸發酵。隨後,酒液被轉入法國橡木桶中陳釀12至15個月,新桶使用比例為50%至70%,每3個月進行一次倒罐,最後再經蛋清過濾,繼而在酒莊內裝瓶。
The saturated purple-colored 2000 is a sleeper of the vintage. Deep, medium to full-bodied, and crammed with concentrated black fruits, it reveals an underlying sweet earthiness, terrific purity, a layered, multi-textured mid-palate, and a large, dense finish with moderate tannin.
A hugely concentrated wine showing chewy, but ripe tannins. Smooth, polished fruit combines with well-balanced wood and suppressed power.
Still youthful and beautifully lush, with dark, velvety tannins that flow underneath, allowing the gorgeous plum sauce, blackberry reduction and anise notes to drape wonderfully before slowly giving way to a cast iron–edged finish.
Good full ruby-red. Ripe, extroverted nose combines roasted plum, boysenberry, mocha, game, smoke and truffle. Sweet, supple and consistent, with plum and currant flavors nicely shaped by juicy, harmonious acidity. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and moderate length.
