酒莊Chateau La Providence 位於波美侯(Pomerol)心臟地帶。是一個古老的酒莊,歷史起源可追溯到1800年後期,酒莊所出售的酒以Chateau Trochaud 為名,在1929年才開始用了 La Providence 這個名字 。在近代,Ets. Jean- Pierre Moueix 收購了Providence。當時 Christian Moueix 手中經營 Pomerol 的名莊如雲,當中最知名且傳奇的 Pétrus 酒廠,同時擁有La Fleur Petrus,Trotanoy 和 Hosanna 等名廠,是今日Pomerol 最舉足輕重的生產同和酒商) 購入當時該酒的名稱為 Chateau La Providence,
在2005年後酒名簡化為 Providence,並於2008年份使用新的酒標及logo,也就是我們今天所推薦的這款。2013 年,酒莊的產量全落入 La Fleur Petrus ,到今天酒莊已經停止了,2.9公頃的葡萄園全歸於 Ets. Moueix 另一名莊 Chateau Hosanna 。每年只產1200箱。

A wine, with a deep nose of blueberries, blackberries, dark chocolate, nutmeg and vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a beautiful depth of fruit. Very attractive texture to this wine. Try in 2017.

This 100% Merlot cuvee from Christian Moueix is an atypically masculine, full-bodied, muscular wine for Moueix. This opaque blue/purple wine displays notes of black cherries, truffles, damp earth and licorice. Full-bodied, very deep and powerful, it will need of 6-8 years of cellaring but should keep for 25-30 years. It has the potential to be the best Providence to date.

The 2009 Providence has a complex and refined bouquet with brambly red fruit, mulberry, black truffle and light tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well judged acidity, very harmonious and poised with an elegant, tobacco and white pepper tinged finish that becomes ferrous with aeration. This feels full mature but it should continue to drink well for a number of years. What a great showing from the Pomerol cru that is now part of La Fleur-Petrus.
