Jean-Marc Burgaud 來自釀酒家族,從22歲開始便在家裡的酒窖幫手,自己本人亦是修讀釀酒學 ,及後與她的太太Christine 在1989年開展了自己的酒莊。酒莊佔地19公頃,當中 13公頃在 Morgon (8公頃在 Cote de py) ,1公頃在 Regnie 和其餘5公頃是 Beaujolais Village 級別 ,而這亦是 Jean-Marc心目中最理想能夠自己親力親為控制所有事情的規模,平均樹齡60年以上,採用每公頃達10000棵的高密度種植方法,在十多年間沒有加任何化學原料在葡萄園,所有葡萄園的工作都是經人手或馬匹,釀酒方法跟隨傳統的布根地,只用天然酵母( Indigenous yeast) 並採取整串葡萄發酵 whole cluster fermentation,從來不除梗 ,不同酒款採用不同的浸皮時間,他的酒有結構,但同時避免力量太重或萃取過量,這源於他早期誤以為Morgon 的酒應該適合更長時間的浸皮,讓酒體更飽滿豐郁,充足的單寜才有更好的陳存潛力,但他後來發現較長的 Maceration 會令葡萄酒失去果味和產出青澀味,對那些要保存10-15年的酒會非常不利,總結了自己多年的釀酒經驗,他認為平衡度才是最重要,要是釀出來的酒有足夠的平衡度,是既可以早喝亦可陳存,Jean-Marc 近年被評為” One of the Blue Chip” among beaujolais producers with extremely accessible price ! 是Morgon 炙手可熱的釀酒師。

Aromas of spring flowers, plums, cassis, orange rind and wood smoke introduce the 2017 Morgon Côte du Py, an ample, full-bodied wine with juicy acids, fine tannins and excellent concentration, its largely concealed structural chassis only asserting itself on the long, tangy finish. The most incipiently complex member of Burgaud's Grands Cras, Charmes and Côte du Py trio, it will reward a few years of patience
