Bought by one of Jean Paul Daumens ancestors in1905, the estate of the Vieille Julienne privileges initially the sale in bulkwith trade, the first bottling being reserved for the family and the friends.During this period, it is in the vines that the efforts are concentrated.

Thanks to the massalle's selection, selected on thealready planted parcels of "lieu-dit Clavin" the majority for our oldvines (of today) are planted.

Bottling began toward the end of the 60's, at thistime, Maxime Daumen renovates the cellar and buys new "foudres". Foryears to years and the father to son, the estate grow up. It's in 190 that JeanPaul Daumen joined the domaine and continue the traditions.

Convinced that what is essentiel is the vien andthe soil, he decides to choose an ecological culture, transaled by thelimitation of the treatments on the vines, the avandonment of fertilizer andchemicals products.

The climatic conditions, the sunning, theatmospferic pressures, the effects of the moon and the planets, are as manyparameters that seems obvious to him to take in consideration, in leaving, ofcourse, "the time to the time".

Today, the wines of Vieille Julienne are producedon about 10 hectare on the most northen part of the appelation Châteauneuf duPape and 5 hectares of Côte du Rhôneon the "lieu-dit Clavin".
