Domaine Nicolas Burguet is a promising independent winery in Gevrey-Chambertin, founded in 2015 by winemaker Nicolas Burguet. The family has a long history in the Burgundy wine industry, and Nicolas himself has over 20 years of hands-on experience in Burgundy winemaking, giving him an innate understanding of the land.

From its inception, the winery has adhered to the core principles of "respecting terroir and minimal intervention in winemaking": the vineyards employ environmentally friendly farming methods, using no herbicides or chemical pesticides, relying on mechanical cultivation and manual weeding to maintain the soil's ecosystem, allowing the vines to take root and grow naturally; in the winemaking process, all grapes are hand-harvested and sorted individually, allowing for better monitoring of the vines based on the plot and the berry's development time. For Nicolas, wine is never an "artificial creation," but rather a natural answer to the terroir and vintage.

This wine comes from the Les Crais single vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, a plot whose name literally translates to "Limestone Land," accurately revealing its terroir: the soil is predominantly limestone, mixed with small amounts of gravel and clay, with excellent drainage. This forces the vines to root deep into the soil, drawing mineral nutrients from the underground rock layers, giving the wine a distinct and clear mineral structure. Among the many Gevrey-Chambertin wines known for their robust structure, the limestone terroir of Les Crais adds a rare touch of "elegance" to this wine, breaking free from the heavy framework of traditional village wines.
