Distillery

Amrut Distillery in Bangalore, India is one of the great success stories of world whisky and proof that excellent whisky can be produced anywhere in the world if the approach is right. Established in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories and initially producing a variety of spirits and other alcoholic drinks for the domestic market, Amrut began producing malt whisky in the 1980s. Amrut followed the Scottish model of whisky production after consulting experts from the Scotch Whisky industry.

釀造 Distillation

The climate in India has a real influence on the shape of the product and it is said that 15% is lost each year during maturation, which means that we are unlikely to ever see an Amrut expression beyond 7 or 8 years old. Amrut whisky has gained global recognition with a series of awards and accolades and they continue to win over whisky lovers the world over.

Tasting Note

Nose aroma: rich and profound oak barrel aroma, fascinating malt sweetness; light smoky aroma is faintly visible, and the overall flavor is mellow and tempting

Palate taste: strong and rich smoke and full peat aroma, a little sherry flavor; custard and vanilla sweetness lead to endless malt and fruity aroma; the aroma of chocolate fudge emerges on the taste buds

Finish aftertaste: the soft taste of puff class is accompanied by a little peat and dry barrel aroma, which is not inconsistent at all. The sweetness of honey brings a satisfying aftertaste, and the fragrance of various spices dances lively on the tip of the tongue, bringing the aftertaste to perfection
