Caprili is located in Montalcino in southern Tuscany, Italy. The Brunello wine produced by Caprili is one of the five most prestigious DOCG wines in Italy and enjoys the reputation of "the crown jewel of Tuscany".

Caprili was founded in 1965 by its founder Alfo Bartolommei, who came from Cinigiano and settled in Montalcino at the beginning of the last century. From 1911, the Bartolommei family began to cultivate the land through sharecropping (a typical form of Tuscany farm management), and later moved through several estates. In 1952, the family moved to Caprili Farm, where they took over the farm and all its livestock, continuing to farm the land as sharecroppers. It was not until 1965 that the Bartolommei family purchased the estate from the Castelli Martinozzi family. That same year, they planted their first vine here, which they named Madre. As its name implies, Madre breeds clones for other vineyards on the property.

The vineyards of the winery are mainly distributed in the Cinigiano and Montalcino areas, with an altitude of 225-340 meters. The vineyards face the southwest and face the sea. The sea breeze protects the vineyards from the influence of moisture and avoids the occurrence of fungal diseases. Among them, half of Pianelli in Cinigiano is planted with red grape varieties Sangiovese and half with white grape varieties; Centro Aziendale in Montalcino is mainly planted with Sangiovese and a small amount of white grape varieties.

In terms of winemaking, Caprili only uses fruits from its own vineyards to make wine. The winemaking process strictly follows natural principles and avoids the use of added yeast or other external corrective agents to produce wines that can accurately display the local terroir characteristics. At the same time, this also allows the wines produced by the winery to perfectly express the unique personality that seasonal changes give to wines of different vintages.
