Founded in 1834 by a Champagne family passionate about the wines of its region, the Boizel House was established in Épernay, in the heart of the Champagne region. Even before the creation of the House, the Boizels cultivated vineyards in some of Champagne’s best-known crus such as Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay.

Detailed knowledge of Champagne’s terroir has been developed over generations. This allows Boizel access to grapes from the best crus of the region, essential in creating great Champagnes. From the vineyards to the cellars, decisions are made with respect for the natural qualities of the wine. Long lees aging, low dosage, barrel ageing and the use of the first pressing only preserves the freshness and finesse apparent in each of the cuvées. Florent Roques-Boizel, the 6th generation and current CEO, maintains the traditional know-how, dynamism and modernity that have always been at the center of Boizel’s constant quest for excellence.Throughout Boizel’s history, a love for Champagne and the passionate pursuit of finesse, character and elegance are showcased in each of their special Champagnes.

(60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay; disgorged in March, 2014): Bright gold. Pungent, deeply scented bouquet evokes peach nectar, poached pear, anise, brown butter and smoky minerals. Broad and densely packed, with a velvety texture and powerful orchard and pit fruit flavors that pick up a toasty element with aeration. Distinctly rich yet surprisingly lively as well, finishing with strong mineral cut and excellent floral persistence.
